Default Pathway to Citizenship

Both Jeb and Rubio support a pathway to citizenship for the millions of illegals in the US.

Is that going to knock them out of contention for President?

I would say yes, the key word as always (illegal) if the government opens up citizenship to illegals then is everything pardoned. I would think some sort of precedence would be set.

I won't vote for anybody that supports pardoning illegals.

You are saying that if your choices were Jeb or Hillary that you would not vote?

To be fair, I do not think Jeb Bush advocates a line to CITIZENSHIP as you imply. He believes in a line to LEGAL STATUS !

Ms. Clinton takes them right to citizenship, I think..not sure because she will not answer questions !

I also think Rubio proposes a road to citizenship, with a number of steps, the last being APPLYING for citizenship

Most everyone will support a pathway to citizenship for 1 of 2 reasons:

1. To win the Presidency they need the hispanic vote
2. They need money from business to fund their campaign and business needs the cheap labor

Yes, I too will vote for that. No one is opposed to immigration ... it's the ILLEGAL jump across the fence type immigration that I completely oppose.

Open borders ,by the way, is best viewed as an oxymoron.

How about starting with the very basic path to citizenship starting with being here legally?
At some point, is anybody is serious at all, the border has to be closed and ONLY allow legals to pursue, maybe some expedited path to citizenship (as an incentive?).

Until the borders are under control, path to citizenship is just another political ploy with no real solution to the current trend toward a future crisis of major threat to many of our existing economies and securities.

Silly rabbit, why would they want to become legal and gets taxed out the A&&& and have to pay for all their freebe's. Remember the 20/20 program on green card holders drawing unemployment, SSI, workmans comp from three states. Collecting 3 grand plus month from each state. He had mail Box at the AZ. borader town, rented burned out trailer house in nev.
had mail box on dead end street lot in Cala. Then he would take his money go back across the boarder till the next monthly checks came in. I guess now it done all electronically.

The little town at the boarder in Az had less than 3 thousand residents but had 20 thousand mail boxes. Probably half of the work for the post office. Then there was the SS employee getting kick backs from illegals he got on SS in San Fransico. Nothing new

The main reason this doesn't happen is Democrats need dead broke 3rd world immigrant who are uneducated and can't speak English. Thus being dependent, and also liking plenty of free stuff, they vote Democrat. The smarter, well educated immigrants tend to prefer Republicans over time.

Jeb Bush said today on Sean Hannity that he fully supports a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants in the US. They would have to meet certain criteria, which he did not elaborate on, pay some penalty fees, and would get permanenet status and then citizenship.

Just seems like pandering to Hispanics since the Republicans are short of them and need more in order to win. Jeb's wife is also Spanish. I don't really trust him.

Did Jeb Bush say CITIZENSHIP actually ? Or did he say LEGAL STATUS ?

I did not see the interview you reference but I recall his stance in general that there is no way we will deport all these people and we should establish as way for them to get LEGAL STATUS. I do not recall citizenship.

Serious question...not being sarcastic. I am glad you brought up that issue actually.
