Default Grandparents Day

How often do you travel away from The Villages for special events involving grandchildren? How do you select which ones to attend? Do you get a guilt feeling not attending or watching the other set of grandparents attending everything?

Our youngest graduated from college earlier this month. We were blessed to live closeby to both of them while they were growing up and am pretty sure we had a little input into their lives. They call frequently and visit two or three times a year and we gathere there or here on major holidays.

If you miss them...GO.

I am guessing your son is the parent of your grandchildren and they live close to her parents.

Everyone has different circumstances and has to make decisions that best works for them. In our case, 5 grandchildren who are now out of college, all graduated without us attending such functions. Would we have loved to attend? Yes, of course but... if just couldn't happen financially as well as some other minor issues. Our grandchildren fully understood and were very grateful that we in turn were able to give them a cash gift that surely came in handy for them at the time.

Seeing the grandkids on certain major holidays works for me

I'm up in MD now for my granddaughter's graduation. I miss my grandchildren, but we try to see them on holidays and they come down in the summer for a week or two.
