Default San Andreas Movie

San Andreas just opened Friday 5/30 @ Brownwood. It sets the new benchmark for disaster movies. We saw it in 3D and the first half hour alone is worth the price of admission. Amazing computer graphics made this a great movie to see. It has plenty of cliffhangers that keeps you into the movie all the way to the end.

Thanks for the info. This definitely is one of the newest movies to see.

Saw it this afternoon and agree. Special effects were great and it moved at a nice pace to hold your interest. Fun movie to go see.

Thanks. Sounds like something I will have to see in a theater. DVDs usually are not that good for these special effects driven films.

I've been waiting for a review of this movie and I know it would be coming from TOTV real soon. Big fan of disaster movies and will definitely spring for the 3D. Thanks!!!

Because of an eye situation I cannot see 3D, but it was/is even a fantastic movie on a plain screen. I may see it again. Cannot ever remember seeing such unbelievable graphics and special effects, which, if this is your thing, this is absolutely a "must see"!!

I believe the deaf community would also enjoy this movie. If I remember correctly it would be fairly easy to read lips for most of the movie.

Lauren Sweeny, EVEN THE MOST skilled lipreaders in English, I have read, can discern an average of 30 percent of what is being said. I believe this figure to be true. There are people with whom I catch almost every word—people I know well, or who take care to speak at a reasonable rate, or whose faces are just easier on the eyes (for lack of a better phrase). But there are also people whom I cannot understand at all. On average, 30 percent is a reasonable number. So I still prefer captions on the movie!

Please forgive my lack of knowledge on lip reading, DeafDeaf. I suggested this movie because it is so visual and the plot line is basically ( we are in " deep do do "now and need to live so....MOVE ! ) . I did notice that in many scenes the actors were filmed dead on their faces as the director was intent on capturing their looks of fear, and astonishment at what was transporting around them. Thank you for your lesson on lip reading, I continue to try to improve my limited ability in ASL .

DeafDeaf, I did find a movie that the deaf community might enjoy ", " The Tribe" . A 2014 Cannes winner, this particular movie uses only sign language, no words . I imagine that this movie is already known but wanted to post it here for others who were unaware of it. Opens June 17 around the country.

We saw the movie in 2d and I am sure 3d was even better. We did enjoy the movie but found it very predictable

I saw this today in Brownwood at the Barnstorm in 3D. Worth the price. The song "California Dreamin" by Sia is also good. It runs during the credits.
