We just dropped their TV service and next want to drop phone and internet. Since its so difficult today to get a person on the phone, perhaps a visit in person would be better? Just get in writing your cancellation date

Send them a registered letter, return receipt requested,(that way they have to sign f'or it), and let them know that you will seek legal remedies if they don't comply. Give them a final date to comply.

You will need to return the Comcast equipment to their office, modem, router, dvr whatever they gave you. Even if you cancel service they will bill you for any cost of materials. The humans in the office on 441 are going to give you a receipt for the materials and should also sign that you have cancelled all services. The online chat feature generally works well and does provide a record, if you save the chat, of what was discussed.

I agree that a certified, return receipt required and notarized letter be sent to their Headquarters and addressed to the President. When you return the hardware they will give you a receipt at the offices on 441 but they will tell you they cannot cancel service and you must call that into the company. In the letter should be copies of the receipts for the return of the hardware and that service was cut off at the date a new service was brought in or Comcast canceled. At this point you will have to monitor any billings received and return them with the confirmed signed return receipt from their Corp Offices.
A problem we had was that I had returned their modem etc and had a receipt and bought one for the new carrier (e.g. DirectTV) and continued to use Comcast internet. As you would guess I continued to get billing for a "rental Modem" and had to remind them that I owned ours and they should cease and desist from sending us rental bills for a modem, etc. So far they have. ![]() |

I returned my equipment to the comcast office near Spanish Springs - I got a receipt - make sure you keep it
When I checked to see why my refund had not been paid was told some equipment was still not returned. CHECK YOUR receipt - it was not obvious to me if both items had been scanned in their office. They said they would check to see if the item had been returned and it took them several weeks to locate it and return my payments They now have the nerve to ask me if I would like to return to comcast ...... |

Cancel a seasonal Comcast hook up every year by returning all equipment to an office and obtaining a receipt. Never a problem.
