Default The time has finally arrived....

Well guys,,, we are finally MOVING to TV!
This Friday we will head out early, early in the AM for TV.
Hubs will drive the big Penske, and I'll follow in his car.
We have already drove one Penske down and my car, in Jan. after we bought our villa.
And altho I am constantly told I am taking too much, I CAN"T HELP IT!
I HAVE to have all my crafts stuff, faux paint stuff, and sewing gear...
And I DID get rid of way more than half of our stuff.

We will stay in our villa temporarily, then will move into the designer (gardenia), that we are purchasing in Virginia Trace. Our house here in NC closes the 18th, then the gardenia closes the 25th. The gardenia owners are graciously allowing us to store our furniture in the garage for the 2 or so weeks til the closing, so we won't have to move it twice.

Hubs will only be in TV for 10 days this time. He won't officially retire til the end of Sept, tho they are trying to talk him into an extra month.
I will be a busy bee working on 2 places at once. Getting the villa ready to rent, and unpacking boxes in the new house once it closes.
I won't be moving furniture in by myself (at least nothing big), but can get the kitchen, closets, bathrooms, etc., done. And maybe do some painting...
Am considering trying to do a 'knock-down' on that popcorn ceiling while it's empty.
I'm bringing my Little Giant ladder,,, much to my husbands disapproval.
Does anyone have an experience or opinion to share about doing their ceiling?

Anyway,,, we are very excited!!! Tho I will be kinda stressed, til both closings are done...
Hubby says I worry needlessly, but that's my nature I guess...

Anyway, will look forward to seeing you guys at the August luncheon, as a full timer!!! 040

WTG guys. Congratulations!!!! We cracked up laughing last week when we were moving furniture in with a rental car. I'm sure you'll have fun when it's all said and done. And needless to say I'm jealous. We've yet to sell our home up north.

Congrats! Sounds you're going to be busy when you get down here. Do take time to relax a little, too.

Congratulations to you! I know the feeling well. I was overwhelmed at first and it took me a month to empty boxes, but oh what a great feeling to be done. I still have painting to do, but thought I would wait until winter. If there is such a thing down here.

Thanks guys,,,

My son will come for a few days to help us unload the truck.
And while we have the truck, we will do a little switcheroo of stuff from the villa to house and vice versa.

I've been told we can call the football coach and round up a few players wanting to earn 8 or so bucks an hour to unload stuff. We may do that also...

I'm sure I'll be overwhelmed for awhile tho.
Actually, I've already been overwhelmed just getting everything out of this NC house!!

Minty,

So happy you'll be in TV forever. I know the feeling of being overwhelmed, I've been feeling that way since January '08? But its almost over now, can't wait. I'll just take my time unpacking the tons of boxes being delivered from LA. Good luck on the move and the closings, I'm sure everything will work out.

See ya in TV, pal, and we'll have a mintjulep on the lanai in Hadley.

Welcome Mint. I will be going back north again tomorrow, until the first of November. Had my first party here this morning. Six of us, new to Paradise, had coffee and kept interrupting each other, we had a whole lifetime to share. What delightful people. Hope to meet you soon. GG

The time has finally arrived....

"The time has come," the Walrus said,
"To talk of many things:
Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax--
Of cabbages--and kings--
And why the sea is boiling hot--
And whether pigs have wings."

But I digress. Welcome aboard. Save me a seat at Derby Day.

We live(d) in the Piedmont area, High Point.
We had the house listed FSBO for 10 mos.,,, lots of lookers but no buyers.
Once we listed it with a realtor, it sold in about 8 weeks...

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!!!!!! wav
See ya soon...
