Default Newbie!

My wife and I just closed on a home during June in Palo Alto. Really looking forward to the time, in about 18 months, when we will be there full time.

While we were there in June it was really toasty! Has anyone have any opinions on using solar venting in the garage and lanai areas?

Also, when does it make sense to get a Priority Membership?

I really like this forum as it seems everyone feels free to give their honest opinion.

Thanks!

If you mean solar exhaust fans like we installed, go electric. Ours don't work so well.

I have a solar fan in my attic. The Solar Guys claims it keeps the roof less hot but I don't notice a difference.

The months of June, July and August are hot months but the rest of the year, is just wonderful. It sure beats snow.

Congrats. Best wishes as you start living the dream.

Thanks for the advice! I'll be going electric. Looking forward to not having to deal with the snow also!
