We lived in the Pine Barrens of NJ. It looked pretty but all the raking. If you visit NYC, take the train to Albany along the river. It's beautiful.

Leaves have yet to turn in Illinois. I think the vast majority of snowbirds don't return until January---although I have no hard data to back this up.

Many snowbirds don't leave until Thanksgiving or Christmas is over. Those that stay north reach Feb 1st and can't stand the weather anymore then make an on-the-spot decision to pack up and head south wondering why they took so long.

Love it when it snows. It makes everything so pretty. when everyone else is sleeping and I just have the quiet of the night and the moon shining on the snow. I know to most of you think it's crazy. But it's my favorite time of the year. Fall would be my second as the leaves turn, not a fan of having to rake them but since we live on the corner most of ours blow away.
