Default Time that recreation centers close

Hello TV viewers! Can you tell me if the rec centers are opened late? We are going to be closing on our home, stay a few days to measure windows, ect. but head home until Jan.
Can you get local coverage without cable? Is the rec center a mecca for tv watchers? Can't see installing cable if we will only be there a few days. Help.

We had ours hooked up finally, the bare minimum only costs about ten dollars a month. We thought it would be much more. Not much to see though. We didn't want to pay a bill for Television when we weren't going to be there. HOWEVER, I was constantly worrying about the weather.

We were more concerned about the election results. I guess we could step back in "time" and listen to a radio or............do you need hook up for that too?

Are you asking if the rec centers have television sets that we can watch there rather than at home? If so, I don't think so. The only time I've seen television sets in use is in conjunction with a dvd player for an exercise tape or something like that. Maybe we can just use a rec center to watch our favorite show, but I don't think so.

If you're going to be here on election night and want to watch the results, I'd suggest a restaurant/bar that has tv sets such as Beef O'Brady's. I imagine they'd have at least one set tuned to the election.

Someone mentioned to me that Comcast now has a plan for snowbirds -- you pay a $50 fee and you can get the cable turned on and off at least twice a year for no additional cost. Might be worth checking out.
