Default Pickleball in Souther Tier of NY for you snowbirds

Well believe it or not there is pickle ball after the Villages!

In the Southern Tier of NY Endicott, Johnson City, Endwell, Vestal and other close by locations, Pickle ball courts are starting to spring up. Local tennis courts are being converted with lines for pickle ball. It's a bit confusing at first with the extra lines but you do get used to it and its a long way back to get the balls on a converted tennis court so catching a ball going out is OK. Oh and some of the courts have taped lines instead of painted line, so I'm not sure how long they will last. I played Pickle ball for 6 weeks in July and August this year in TVs and I can tell you one thing about playing in NY is you don't sweat nearly nearly nearly as much!

Currently here are the courts and play times I know about:

Maine Middle school off Rte 26- 2 courts > Players meet on Tuesday at 6pm and Wed at 10am. Tuesday we have been getting about 8 to 16 Players, Wed 4 to 6 if we are lucky.
You just need to show up and you can join right in, just like at The Villages. Its mixed and very friendly.

Glenview off Glenview drive in Endicott has converted 1 court - no scheduled play

I haven't seen these and as far as I know there is no scheduled pay but they are available if you have your own group and want to practice.

Highland Park in Endwell has also converted a court
Perhaps a court at Rec Park in Binghamton but I'm not sure

Of course Pickleball in NY can start getting a bit questionable once the weather turns a bit cooler (but its great now).
The good news is that the local Boys and Girls club will be starting indoor Pickleball soon and posted a notice in the local newspaper, but I don't have any further details yet, stay tuned.

There is even a local sporting goods shop selling rackets and balls ( players bring balls and spare paddles)

If anyone knows of any more courts please post them here and if you want more information send me an email. If your close come out and join us.
