Default Converting to Xfinity X1 boxes?

i currently have a4 year old Comcast HD "box". I am contemplating upgrading to the X1 platform.
My current setup goes through my home theater tuner.

If I go forward with the decision to upgrade i intend to have a Comcast technician come and do the installation and set up.

Has anybody made a similar change?

I have had the X1 platform for about 4 months now and love it. It's very user friendly and i absolutely love the voice command remote

I was thinking about converting to the X1 box but now that we are into the 2016 new season, I have too many recordings to watch before I can convert. Too bad that Comcast cannot copy these recordings over to the new box at conversion time.

I have never 'upgraded', but have had X1 in MA and now in FL.

If I have voice recognition, I do not know how to use it, will have to google that later

I am a fan of X1. For me it is about being able to record more shows at once. I would have a hard time going back to not being able to watch live TV or on demand if I was recording two programs. I do not watch live TV, I o not even watch sports 'live', I delay an hour or so, so I never have to watch commercials or 'experts'

This will become real handy as 2016 approaches

How easy is it to contact Comcast to either put your service on Vacation hold or take it off of hold? With Brighthouse the customer service so far has been A+ but their equipment is like 1990's vintage.

Tom at Villages AV set up my X1 box through the receiver, should not be a problem at all.

If you are worried about missing the shows recorded on your old box they should be available on the X1 On Demand feature at no cost.
