I'd like to learn how "brides" persuade men to go clothes shopping with them.

My wife tells me she is just going to be a minute and she is only going to one store. Same story for many many years and I am still falling for it. Apparently my mother did raise both a dumb boy and a fool

It's not a matter of persuasion. "Brides" know where the skeletons are. Otherwise known as extortion.

Maybe it starts with a S and ends in a X!

I've tried that technique with Fireboy. He is an "in and out" type of shopper.
Sadly I go into some type of dissociative fugue state when I walk into a department store. When I wake up, it's an hour later.
Now he won't go within a mile of a clothing store with me.
I envy women I see with men patiently waiting and offering comments on each outfit they try on.

Would that be before, or after, or both?

Bare,
My hubby wouldn't consider being a "chair hubby". He says those guys will say anything to get their wives out of the store!

"Oh, that one looks great, honey!" in otherwords, "Zip, WE ARE OUTTA HERE!"

I won't even ask him, it's not fun for either of us!! Give my my shopping time alone to wander and look. He hates that and I hate him when I drag him along. It is a great thing to go shopping alone!!! then I just bore him with trying things on for him at home. That is bad enough!!

Mine either, and me, too! Oh, well...flip side is, if they're not there, they don't know the $$$ spent, and then sometimes don't even notice it's new...better yet!!

I think that probably 95% of men don't go shopping with their wives. But I notice the other 5% that not only go shopping, but carry shopping bags for their spouses. Some of the men are actually paying attention, and saying thing like "I like the blue one and the red one, but the green pantsuit you tried on earlier looks the best". I eavesdrop in awe when I hear a man actually offering constructive comments.

Ya know...sometimes the OP actually knows what they're talking about and is just trying to inform us...and, not everything requires a humorous response. These people are upset and trying to give us a heads-up. No harm in just being understanding or moving on to the next post.

Gotcha!!!!!:1rotfl :

I am late to the conversation, but OP is correct. What a madhouse! I have actually never been to a SteinMart before, nor ever been to a store opening day. Went with a friend, and saw two loooooong lines as we walked in the door, so decided to just look around. It seemed to me that as far as women's clothing (correct me if I'm wrong), there were a lot of high end brands that were marked down significantly, yet still pretty pricey. Also lots of wool and clothes I would wear during an Indiana winter. Not so sure about wearing it here, although I have not been through a Villages winter yet.

Went to Tuesday Morning after we left there, and found prices on items I would pay if I needed anything.

I still prefer Kohls! It never fails they have what I need and their sales are awesome and return policy is one of the best!
