Default Palin Visit

I believe I read in the paper today that there are RULES for who can get tickets to come see Palin...just noted that they were the same rules that were in place for when Bush came to visit.

Does anyone know these rules...some of us were not here when Bush came through...

I heard rumor that you have to be a registered republican!! That would be crazy....how do you get the rest of the people on her side without being able to hear her!

Does anyone know?

thanks

Default Rules....what rules?

First of all if you can walk/ride/slide up to the person handing out the tickets all you have to do is put your hand out. No screening of who gets what tickets.....are you kidding or what?

Precautions, not rules...you will go through a metal detector....no coolers...no chairs....and anything else that makes security sense to the Secret Service.

These are routine precautions taken for candidates and office holders at this level...and contrary to some beliefs it is not a partisan edict.

Tickets are non partisan too....can not believe anybody would even suggest other wise, unless just being catty or funny....and I am sure we will get both.

bille....slow down...I was not trying to be nasty here...honestly I heard there were rules about republicans only....and in the paper today it said same rules apply...etc....

So I was just curious to see if there was anything I needed to know...

Also...when someone waits in town square tomorrow...can they get as many tickets as they want...what if they are sent to get tickets for 5 people....can they do it??

Just wondering as some of my friends want to go....

Tickets!!!!! It sounds as though tickets will be given out tomorrow (Friday). We were coming from out of town and arriving on Sat. Not sure it is worth it now, if tickets are given out on Friday. Where does one get tickets?

Wink Palin/McCain?

Heard that Sarah called it the Palin/McCain Ticket today. Better watch it Johnny Boy. From all reports, Sister Sarah likes to be the star of the show. If you win, don't accept a "nice" cup of tea from her or go moose hunting!

Default Tickets will be given out....

at Lake Sumter Landing on the square from 9AM till noon...there are supposed to be several people handing them out.
Then from noon to 6 PM tickets will be available at Republican HQ at 1037 Canal Street...I think it is just behind Johnny Rockets.
Any remaining tickets will be available at Republican HQ during the day Saturday.

Default There is a form to be filled out....

before getting tickets a copy of which is in this morning's Happy Paper...allowing information for up to 4 individuals. They will have the forms available on location as well.
The line was already well under way being formed at 7:15 Am this morning. It appeared to be well organized with roped off channels to wait in. This was in front of the stage in the center of the square. There seem to be a fairly significant number of staffers gathering also.
One could tell the folks in line were experienced line waiters in TV as many had their chairs, coffee, breakfast, newspapers, books, etc with them. May have been a line but it was just another social encounter.
There was no way to find out how many tickets would be available in total.
If you haven't ever attended a rally or session involving this level of candidate, accompanied by secret service...the ticketing, fill in the form, et al are standard practice for both parties. People are lined up today to get Obama tickets the same way for his upcoming rally.
