Default Senate passes $700 billion rescue package

The Senate has passed a $700 billion bailout for the financial industry aimed at preventing the economy from plunging into a recession. Go to www.orlandosentinel.com

The House plans to vote on it Friday.

For those interested, a summary of the provisions of the bill - covering a LOT more than the headline $700B amendment - can be found at http://rpc.senate.gov/public/_files/...ationActCJ.pdf

The summary makes interesting reading, especially the motorsports raceway deduction and a few other gems buried within it.

This bill is a perfect example of what happens when a simple piece of proposed legislation - originally solely dealing with mental health benefits - gets grafted with a dozen more limbs.

Just vote for whomever opposes the incumbent. It does not matter about party affiliation, policies or anything. Just "fire" them.
