One tennis court will make 4 pickleball courts with plenty of room around each PB court.

16 (doubles) players instead of 4.

Go down to Rohan Rec center there are 16 or 18 ? Courts open for open play. Now, don't say it's too far, is so your not pickleball fanatic. How about converting some of the horse shoe pits, and shuffle board areas into pickleball courts? See what I mean! Stepping on someone else's toes!

Actually tennis courts and pickleball courts shouldn't be Side by side in the same location. Noise from the pickleball courts disruption to high level tennis players. I am thankful there is long lines at pickleball courts and like the format. If you play piclkeball at high level you sometimes need break

I play tennis at Seabreeze and most pickleball players don't come until 10 a.m. The tennis courts are full at 8:30. It's difficult to find other tennis courts if your courts are wet. It is good for the pickleballers that Rohan has the number of courts it has.

Just a thought...way up north when we go to different executive courses most of the tennis courts are empty. But we do golf in the afternoon mostly..so that may mean something

It's easy to convert a tennis court to a playable pickleball court with the addition of kitchen lines using blue painters temporary masking tape 7 feet on either side of the net for the No Volley Zone, aka The Kitchen.

The rear PB line is the back line of the tennis service box; 1 foot shorter than a PB court.

Using the tennis singles lines the width of a tennis court is 27' while a PB court is 20' or 3 1/2' wider on each side. With most PB players this isn't a major issue.

And I "heard" that they are considering doing this at Churchill rec center, as there are only four PB courts next to nearly mostly empty tennis courts. The idea is that if people came to play tennis, they would have priority. I do not know how they would adjust the tennis nets down and up, since the handle to do that is kept inside the rec center.

FYI to the tennis poster, the courts at hibiscus are always empty on Sunday mornings at 8:00 am when we play PB with friends.

Why up north there are two locations for tennis. chatham and saddlebrook for total of 6 hard courts. Don't count Glenview or Lopez were you have to paid $14 bucks for 2 hours above amenities fees. For what I know and read The association won law suit for lack of rec facilities north of 466. Hopefully some of that Money will be spent on popular activities? More than the two PB courts proposed at mulberry. The new 300 plus homes will no t have PB courts. So you think lines are long now! Just wait.

What association? What lawsuit? Do you mean the one for continued maintenance?

The one I read in the new letter that thrown on my drive way. Which talked about 40 acres down the road from the VA center for 3.8m or so on the other side of the future build area and old Church that they are negotiating on? I also read the developer not going to build any rec facilities?

There was a huge tennis craze in the 70's. You had to "rack up" to get an outdoor court on the hour, and indoor courts had a waiting list for seasonal court times. We had Newcombe, Connors, Borg, Ashe, Nastase, Vilas, and late in the decade McEnroe. That time period influenced the way a lot of Villagers age people see tennis today. So when a developer touts recreation facility numbers golf courses and tennis courts are at their top.

Yes, but those of us who can still play tennis are few and far between... very lucky, and to be envied! We had our knees scoped, our shoulders taped, and our backs shot full of (name your numbing agent). Our nerves javebeem cauterized.
