Red face Lawn Service Solicitors

Beware of a lawn Service named Tender Loving Care. They offer free weeding if you buy their pinebark by the bushel. It sounds like a great deal but they charge a lot for the pinebark and it cost me over $2000 before they were through......................... Just saying.

Obviously pine bark mulch, or any mulch for that matter on any home should not cost $2,000.

You are SO RIGHT.

All new people...read recommendations on this forum and get three quotes for all jobs and talk to your neighbors and ask them who they use and how much they paid.

Uh oh, they are back again. If you do a TOTV search you will see they have been through here before. Very unscrupulous .... No estimate up front and they charge by the bucket, which has no quantitative meaning and you end up with a very large bill.

If they in fact have "operated" here as a company interested in ripping off Villagers in the past, then Seniors vs. Crime and the local authorities should be notified by the OP, and anyone else who this overcharging has happened to. Yes, one needs to get estimates in writing, check references, and pay by credit card so there is some recourse in situations like that. But unfortunately, that doesn't always happen..

Here's the problem with your suggestion -- lawn service companies are not licensed by any government agency. They are not required to pay a (up-front) tax (or fee) to operate. However, the owner should be able to show a liability insurance policy.
