Default Buttonwood Mail Center

I am fairly new to the Villages and I have a concern at my Buttonwood mail center. I have been here for 3 weeks now and had my mail forwarded from home. I was getting my mail up till Tuesday and the last 3 days I have received nothing i.e. the box is MT. I know I have mail that is coming to me and there is always junk mail but not since Tuesday. I tried calling the PO and I either get a busy signal or no one answers. Could be I have the wrong number. I have tried to find out when the postal people are in the mail center but have not been able to catch up with them. Does any one know a good number I can call for the PO? If you live in Buttonwood does anyone know what time of day the postal people are in the mail center? Thanks for the help.

I don't know if this is your case, but we find that the forwarded mail seems to come in groups every few days. It is as if they forward it several times a week and not daily.

The mail people are there usually after 11:00 AM and stay till around 2:00. You can tell they are there by the van or suv backed into a space near the mailboxes.

The problem is with the Post office that is forwarding your mail to The Villages.

My suggestion, leave a note on the back door to the mail station and ask the postman to call you when he gets in. It worked for me and gave me his number on my phone for future reference.

But I agree with Shimpy, they are usually there between 11 and 2.

Good luck.

Go to the Lady Lake PO off 27/441 behind the police station. They should be able to answer your question.

I agree with Rango.

I suspect they’re going to tell you to call the forwarding PO.

I so agree with you! Our mail was either being forwarded from our town in MI, or it was being left in our Michigan box, depending on who was delivering that day. It was a complete mess despite numerous calls back to Michigan. So glad to be here full time and away from that headache.

The forwarding process is not seamless. I resorted to pasting a big note to cover the inside of the mailbox saying No Mail... then worried all winter about who else knew we weren't there!

Mail forwarding is a joke. In the first 4 months we lived here, we received mail that had been held for 10-20 days before being forwarded. When we complained, we were told that their policy (Upstate NY) was to forward once a week or when several pieces had piled up. Thank Heavens we have finally managed to get our address changed with everyone!

Thanks to all for the info. ally got to speak with people in PO Center and they explained how forwarding mail works. The problem is with the PO forwarding the mail. Apparently they only forward on certain days of the week and that's why I receive no mail for several days.

Our mail is only forwarded when there is 7 to 10 pieces, or when they feel like it. I now have everything signed up to email account, and just have neighbor pick up once a week. If it's important she emails photo of envelope.
