Default Congratulations to the victor.

While not the landslide predicted he is non the less the winner.
In my estimation, regardless who the winner, getting elected was the easy part.

Now, delivering on the promises of change(s) will be significantly more difficult.

Where we are as a nation one year from today will be much more important than today!!!

One of BHO's first priorities should be to raise the public rating of Congress.
That means they go to work for we the people. We shall wait with utmost anxiety.

BHO was elected on performance promised. My measure of the man will be based on performance delivered.

As politicians go, and unfortunately incumbents and experience prove, prove....talking the talk is as far as it goes.

We shall see.

Congratulations again, and I must now join the ranks of those who hope.

That was very gracious of you, BTK. We all hope he will live up to our expectations. It sounds like he is wasting no time - discussions and possibly naming some staff this week. I'm especially excited about the foreign response to the election. This is big news internationally. I heard that Spain actually cancelled television coverage of some major sporting events so they could cover the results of our American election. President elect Obama has been receiving congratulations from leaders all over the globe. He has a tremendous reservoir of goodwill to start off with. I hope he can rebuild the standing of USA in the world.

Default Takin it to the streets

I actually had a good feeling seeing the masses of Americans flooding into th streets in celebration. It's good to see this degree of excitement and hope, no matter what your political bent is. There also seems to be a positive response worldwide. It will be interesting to see his Cabinet and staff choices fall into place. I can't wait to see how the current mess in health care gets addressed.

BTK: Hope will get you nothing. There is no hope for this country with a Socialist/Marxist ideology which is Obama's. I am sorry to say that this country's worst days are now ahead of us.

The Republicans need to get back to Reagan conservative value candidates. McCain certainly was not that. A party divided cannot succeed.

Neither will this country. It is irretrievably broken from within, corrupt in morality and on the bridge to nowhere.

I'll just sit here the next 4 clinging to my guns and religion !!

I actually remember a television show in the afternoon. She was a big lady in a big dress and sang God Bless America.
Is this a memory or a flash back?

Yes, She did have a TV show. My father used to love the way she sang. Gosh I was really little then. Nice memories.

Of course, Sam and Kate Smith went to high school together! HAHAHA! OK, I couldn't resist that one either Sammie!
