Default Another Golf cart accident

There was another golf cart accident two people in one cart were injured and transported to the hospital. The other vehicle was a golf car. The driver of one of the carts was cited for running a stop sign and NOT HAVING PROOF OF INSURANCE

This accident is shown on the online- news paper.

Thought you did't need insurance for a golf cart !!!

There are over 50,000 golf carts here and well over 100,000 people clogging the roads and multi-modal paths. Add to that non village traffic on both and its a wonder there are not more accidents.

Only licensed golf carts need insurance but one would be wise to carry insurance on their golf carts because auto/homeowner policies usually exclude them off a policy

A Google self driven automobile recently collided with a city bus because the google mobile "assumed" the bus would yield. It's AI has been re-coded.

The golf that was cited appears not to be street legal---NO WINDSHIELD WIPERS

Again how can a person be cited for no proof of insurance, when its not required ?

RickeyD: I have trouble trusting my cruise control much less anything else.

If and when they begin mass producing self-driven it is going to turn the auto and insurance industries upside down.

Its going to rewrite the rules of the road, police enforcement and investigations. And can you imagine the social implications of people in a vehicle that is on automatic pilot.

As a side note. The yield re-code will only apply to vehicles larger than the googlemobile. So, golf car drivers beware !

I thought the same thing. No wipers, not street legal, no insurance required.

Sure hope that he has some form of liability insurance or he is going to be pretty well wiped out in a lawsuit.

Wipers are not required on street legal NEVs/LSVs.

Not required only means one needs to make their own judgement about insuring the risks in their lives.

Life insurance is not required either but it is most assuredly a multi billion dollar thriving business.

For less than $100 why would one not elect to insure a golf cart?

Especially give the exposure and significant risks posed here in TV.

I t is my understanding one's needs golf cart insurance separate from home owners insurance, Something about they can't sue, including your home. It's less than one hundred dollars.

Second, why don't people install and use their seat belts in a golf cart? Many people get thrown from their carts, resulting in serious/fatal injuries!!!

It saddens me that for a hundred bucks, people would put themselves in jeopardy of a serious injury. I hear so often that some people think they are going slow enough in a golf cart and don't ever think, they will be injured and can't be bothered to wear seat belts.

Just putting it out there!
