Default Colin Powell and Respect for the Office of the Presidency.

Colin Powell: GOP Candidates 'Belittling' The Country And Presidency : NPR

This does seem very true with a troll taking over the dialog and the media feeding him along with some of his opponents.

A nice example of respect:

"Nancy Reagan once wrote that nothing could prepare you for living in the White House. She was right, of course. But we had a head start, because we were fortunate to benefit from her proud example, and her warm and generous advice.

Our former First Lady redefined the role in her time here. Later, in her long goodbye with President Reagan, she became a voice on behalf of millions of families going through the depleting, aching reality of Alzheimer’s, and took on a new role, as advocate, on behalf of treatments that hold the potential and the promise to improve and save lives.

We offer our sincere condolences to their children, Patti, Ron, and Michael, and to their grandchildren. And we remain grateful for Nancy Reagan's life, thankful for her guidance, and prayerful that she and her beloved husband are together again." —President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama

Again, I must define that I am a very conservative republican and oppose almost all of Obama policies. I have been active on here beginning thread on his foreign policy and Obama care, both of which are terrible.

I say that only to seperate myself from the usual back and forth between sides.

Having said that, every time I hear Trump even use Reagans name, I choke. While the Reagans had character, Trump is not even aware of its meaning nor does he care to know.

Not speaking only of marriage, but his fraudulent activities, his lying blatantly, his labeling if people......understand all you Trump field troops, if you chose to disagree, you will suddenly become a loser, or stupid.

He does not deserve to say the name Reagan and frankly, if convenient he will call him names

Getting back to the subject, I will preface this post by saying I was proud to work for Powell. Key word "WAS." He was a good man when he was SecState and did a lot for modernizing the whole IT system. [another reason Hillary has no excuse for her blatant disregard in handling classified information] However, I discovered a totally different face on Powell when he endorsed Obama over a war hero in the first election, and then knowing how poor Obama did in his first term, Powell endorsed him again. I can only conclude that he is just as racist as Obama. That is very disappointing. Up until that point, I had admired Powell as a leader. As far as I am concerned, he might as well have committed treason along with Hillary. From now on, I will always think of Powell as a racist whenever I observe him in public, on TV or in the news media. I am ashamed of him. Any comments coming from him in the future will never be taken seriously, because I will always consider his motive as racist based.

I chuckle when I read stuff about how great reagan was, maybe you better go back and read the history about his years as president, and nancy's also.

Some trolls have kept up their tedious posts about how the Secret Service disliked Hillary.

Go back into the Ronnie Reagan years and read how the Secret Service hated Nancy Reagan!

You know, I took your advice and this is what I have found. Please share all the link to read about the hate that the SS had for Ms Reagan !! THanks

"Ronald Reagan was moral, honest, respectful, and dignified. The Reagan’s treated Secret Service and everyone else with respect and honor. Nancy Reagan was very nice but very protective of the President- Truth!
Ronald Reagan’s codename was Rawhide and according to Kessler’s book he treated the Secret Service agents, the Air Force One Crew and the staff of maids and butlers at the White House with respect. President Reagan was known to carry a fire arm and told a former agent that it was “just in case you guys can’t do your job, I can help out.” A former agent told Kessler that when Reagan travelled on his first presidential trip to the Soviet Union he had packed a gun in his briefcase. A former staff member told Kessler that “Reagan was famous for firing up Air Force jets on behalf of children who needed transport for kidney operations.”

Kessler wrote that Nancy Reagan was very protective of her husband, oversaw his diet and all visits from the children of the President had to be cleared by her first."

"A former Secret Service agent assigned to protect Nancy Reagan says the former first lady was every bit as gracious in her personal life as her public one.

Tim Franklin served on the Reagans’ security detail from 2001 to 2003. He said he spent more than half that time assigned as Mrs. Reagan’s protective agent, and accompanied her to the White House in 2002 when she received the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

“It was very unique to be around her during those moments in history after they left office, and see her private reactions to the politics that were happening,” Franklin said.

The ASU criminology professor happened to be in Washington D.C. Sunday, so he decided to place a flower outside the White House in her honor.

“She was extremely kind to me. She was also, what I would say, the epitome of class.”

"RONALD & NANCY REAGAN:

*"The real deal --- moral, honest, respectful, and dignified.
They treated Secret Service and everyone else with respect and
honor. Thanked everyone all the time. He took the time to know
everyone on a personal level. "
"One "favorite" story which has circulated among the Secret
Service personnel was an incident early in his Presidency,
when he came out of his room with a pistol tucked on his hip.
The agent in charge asked: "Why the pistol, Mr. President?"
He replied, "In case you boys can't get the job done, I can help."
It was common for him to carry a pistol. When he met with
Gorbachev, he had a pistol in his briefcase. Upon learning that
Gary Hart was caught with Donna Rice, Reagan said,
"Boys will be boys, but boys will not be Presidents."
[He obviously either did not know or forgot JFK's and LBJ's
sexcapades!]"
**"She was very nice but very protective of the President; and
the Secret Service was often caught in the middle. She tried
hard to control what the President ate, and he would say to the
agent "Come on, you gotta help me out."
The Reagans drank wine during State dinners and special
occasions only; otherwise, they shunned alcohol; the Secret
Service could count on one hand the times they were served
wine during their "family dinner". For all the fake bluster of
the Carters, the Reagans were the ones who lived life as
genuinely moral people."

Even the Democrats like those two. You are such a miserable person that has so much immature hate in you. You must have been a middle child that your momma ignored way too much.

Has anyone else read any of Colin Powell's books? This is a good summary. Review of Colin Powell's Autobiography

I would support with pride Colin Powell. Does anyone remember why he was overlooked or was it his decision that he was being judged by the company he kept. And he was uncomfortable with that kind of judgement.

Did you go back and read his history? Your pathetic, typical hypocrite.
