Default Send Holiday Greetings to our Troops

If anyone is interested, go to www.anysoldier.com click on "where to send" and read and request an address to send a card or letter to a soldier. The site is pretty self explanatory.

This has been my project for a few months now - I have sent many letters and care packages. I have received a few emails back and letters. One unit has adopted my dog as a Mascot - I've sent a couple of pictures of her.

If you have any questions, pm me.

Marilyn,

Thank you for doing this! My brother, a Marine in Iraq, states they receive packages and letters from "strangers" all the time! It just makes their day when this happens! One person even sent some dog toys over for the police dogs. My brothers dog found a rubber duck and none of the other dogs are allowed to play with it. It is his (the dog's) most prized possession!

They are all blessed to have people like you sending things over! Thank you again!

I have seen soldiers or marines who are dog handlers and they request toys for their dogs.

One unit found 4 cats and a dog and requested food for them - I included quite a bit in the care package I sent. When a soldier writes back to me, I answer and include a box of candy like DOTS or MIKE and IKES. I recently wrote to a soldier in Iraq who is from Ocala - I hope he answers me.

A large flat rate box is $10.95 to send to an APO or FPO address. I even got donations from my women"s club and sent a box. Have another ready to go.

It's a wonderful website for our men and women and what a way to say "thank you".

Awww, I am so happy to know that our military dogs are not going unnoticed. They are heroes also.

Could someone tell me how I would go about sending toys and food for our canine friends? Thanks!

Thanks so much for sharing this!! I've sent this post to everyone on my email list and have referenced your (Marilyn's) ID with TOTV so if you get some pm's from strangers, you will understand that this wonderful humanitarian effort for our military should be shared with EVERYBODYto join in on bringing a little of home to our military. Just hope that this effort will not be attacked by hackers and the like.

If you want to see a picture that "says it all" when the soldiers receive a package - go to www.anysoldier.com.

Click on "where to send" and then on the left click on SPC Joshua R. Curry
He uploaded the picture when they received their first package.

I have recorded 12 Christmas Carols on my keyboard and put them on CD. I will be sending out a number of them to soldiers who have mentioned that they have CD players. I have done all up-beat, jazzy ones.
