Default Good Samaritan Kudos

I wish to offer my sincere gratitude to the following two gentlemen who offered me such generous assistance on Monday April 4th; Clarence "Thumper" Cook owner of Thumpers Retractable Screen Doors and Jimmie Stuck, motorcycle enthusiast and husband to our favorite Villages realtor, Linda Canada-Stuck.

On Monday, I decided to embrace the beautiful day by driving my Honda 110 Scooter to a club meeting at Laurel Manor Recreation Center. After the meeting was over I returned to the parking lot only to find out that my scooter wouldn't start and that my battery was dead. Thumper, who happened to be parked next to me, offered to help me by jumping the battery. When it became obvious the battery was dead and couldn't be recharged Thumper offered to return to his home and retrieve his brand new trailer to eventually transport my scooter home. In the meantime, our new friend Jimmie Stuck appeared and also attempted to get my scooter going but to no avail. Shortly afterwards, Thumper returned and he and Jimmie loaded up my scooter and transported me home safe and sound.

I must say I was both delighted and amazed by the generosity of both these men and their mutual willingness to disrupt their day by giving me a hand. I can't thank them enough for their kindness. So it appears to be true, The Villages is the friendliest and most helpful place to live !!

Not at all surprised, but nonetheless delighted. Isn't this a wonderful place to live?

The good here outweigh the bad, any day of the week.

You make it sound like they wouldnt be that nice if it were some where else. I'm sure they would be. This is not the only nice place in the world.

Penny: It is a pleasant story. I know Thumper and his generosity and concerned dominates both is business and personal life. He installed and maintains my overhead screen door and not surprisingly offers a superior product and service. He is a good man

you're right, it is not the only nice place but it does seem to be a place where more are predisposed to respond in a good and generous way.
