Default Valerie Gillespie Ensemble at Spanish Springs

We saw the Valerie Gillespie Ensemble at Spanish Springs last night and they were great. Four accomplished musicians (keyboard, drums, standup bass, and singer/woodwinds) who played smooth jazz and sang songs from "The Great American Songbook". Their leaer, Valerie Gillespie, aside from providing vocals, played four different woodwind instruments- clarinet, flute and two different saxes. I know this type of music isn't for everyone, but we enjoyed it immensely. If you get the chance they are worth taking the time.

Thank you for posting this. I really like "The Great American Songbook." I like almost every kind of music, but the standards are among my favorites. -- I miss Lenny Wilson being at the squares, but maybe this group will help.

I just found the website with the schedule. Now I can write the dates for TV on the calendar. Thanks again.
