Default Grand Children in the Area

I am sure this has been discussed many times in the past. However as I am still new to this website I will ask for myself. My daughter is recently widowed (at age 38) and has talked about moving to this area. Whiule I would love to spend more time with her and the grandkids, I am not sure of the best places for them to live. Her husband left her well cared for financially so I don't think career is the primary objective to moving here. I think she just wants to be closer to her family, which is understandable. I just want to make sure I know the "rules" prior to their arrival.

Does anyone else have children and grandchildren in the area. She has looked at both The Bison Valley neighborhood and The Villages of Parkwood.

The grands would need to go to the Charter School, so I am sure a job will be needed.

Does anyone know anything about these places?

Felix, if you PM Cassie, I think she could give you a lot of information.

Yes...Felix feel free to PM me...

I will give you what I can....but bottom line is that it will be wonderful for you to have your family here...it is nice to know there is some beautiful family housing both from The Villages....and from other organizations.

Bison Valley is golf cart accessible....Villages of Parkwood is as well IF you have a street legal cart.

Default Looking for family housing too

Hi,

I am also searching for family housing and also employment near The Villages this year. My parents have lived there for 3 years and are encouraging us to move there from PA. We're ready but want to be smart about it. I will send a PM to Cassie - sounds like you're the one to ask.

Thanks!

Bison Valley web site:
http://www.bisonvalleyvillage.com/

Bison Valley has 2 to 4 bedroom homes. Very Nice. Built by The Villages and owned by The Villages. You can get a Golf Cart and ride anywhere from Bison Valley.

Very nice area. I live in Bison Valley. Kids in Charter School. can tell you all you need.

Good Luck

I KNEW I was not the only one with kids on this sight!!

G-what grade are the kids in? We have looked at Bison Valley...it is beautiful! The homes are just the same as in many of the Villages homes. When we were looking we went through the same process...choosing interior...exterior etc....same pricing it seems....just no pool...unless you have one added to the home sight.

Any talk of adding a "family" pool in Bison Valley?

Please PM me more about your Charter School experience...our girl just started this week at the Middle school....so far so good!!

Bogie...that is a great idea!! Personally I think TV's should build a rec center with pool, etc for families....they can then charge an amenties fee or membership fee if the family lives outside of the Family neighborhoods.

They could then host the summer camps there as well. Who does one talk to about this? I would buy in Bison Valley in a second if I thought there was going to be a pool, rec center etc....I would pay the amenities fees as it is worth it!!

The pool question has been asked. There is spot on the back road that is designated as a park, but no plans have been made to do anything with it yet. alot want a pool, then some dont. We are fighting to have lights put at the entry to Bison Valley. so dark at night, that is the only thing i have against that place. Love living there. Alot of nice people in there already.
If you go to the map on the website, look at lot 15. Now that is a deal. That is a big house. Lantana, 4 bdr 2 bath. over 2500 living. 245,000. i wish i could buy that one. DOnt know about the gym deal. I hear there is maybe a gym coming to Buffalo Ridge?????
The POA is run by TV also.

Default More on POA

The POA does not enforce anything. Go to http://www.poa4us.org/ to learn more about them.

I think there was a little misunderstanding here....

When Gmoney said The Villages runs the POA, he/she meant the POA for Bison Valley; POA being used here in a generic sense.

Downeast thought GMoney meant the specific POA organization in The Villages, which is, most certainly, not connected with The Villages Developer.

I could have made some money betting that one. I knew as soon as the letters POA hit the pages there would be misunderstanding. I knew what was meant by it but some people just see POA or VHA and get their dander up!

I think it is rather amusing.

If the admins ever want to raise page views just put those initials anywhere in a thread and watch those web clicks add up.
