Default Alden Bungalows

Is there much sales activity in the Alden Bungalows area? Are most of CYVs in the area now built?

I was told that the remaining homes are going to be Lifestyle Homes for visiting prospective homeowners.

Alden Bungalows is one of the biggest villa communities with 300 homes when they are finished, so they have plenty of room. We've already had poster say they stayed at Alden on their LSV. In the Sun real estate section as another poster pointed out, Creekside furnished bunglows have been selling in the newspaper, so that also leads one to believe Alden is the new Lifestyle location.

When we did our LSV in April 2011 we stayed in the Cottages east of the LSL sales office at the foot of the Morse Bridge. I think one time I counted and there was 48 homes in that section. They had their own neighborhood pool, a really a neat out of the way and quiet place but convenient. We stayed at 1033 Cottage Dr. and it's now up for sale at $699,000. It was nice but not that nice.

I don't know that choosing Alden Bungalows for the lifestyle program is their best business decision. I was there last month. My husband and I are looking for a active golf cart community where we can play 9 hole golf, racquet sports, go to dinner and dancing and walk to shopping and coffee in the morning. It sounds like the villages would be the place, but you can't tell from that location.

There is a lot of heavy construction still going on there. All the activities they provided with the lifestyle program (golf, pickle ball, tennis), were over 30 minutes away by golf cart. We kind of could tell that was a problem when he picked me up at the MCO shuttle stop and it took us forever on the cart paths to get back to out bungalow, not a good first impression. To play tennis on the soft courts we had to take a car, as it was past Lake Sumter. We ended up cancelling one tennis activity and one golf tee time because it took up too much travel time.

From that lifestyle visit I learned the people, everywhere, other than perhaps our assigned realtor, were extremely nice and friendly. The activities, once you got there, were fun. But if we were really that far away from things I'm not sure I want to spend that much time of my retirement on the road. My husband really likes the villages, and is looking for weeks rental this summer closer to the center of things to determine if I'd like it better if it was a 10minute jaunt to all the stuff we want to do.

Our daughter just did a LS visit and stayed at Atrim Dells. There are 10 lifestyle homes there and they are no longer offering stays at Creekside. I don't know how many homes are available at Alden.

Any houses coming on the market at Alden Bungalows or are all the newly constructed homes for the Lifestyle Program?

At this very moment in the entire Brownwood area, that's below 466A, there are only 13 new CYV's for sale. Here's a link:

The Villages - Search for New, Pre-owned Homes and Villas in The Villages, Florida

For future info call the sales office 800-245-1081, our salesman Tony Trussler was great, ask for him if you can.

Default Alden Bungalows

My husband and I revisited TV a few weeks ago, targeting specifically Alden Villas. We knew that here were no new listings at the time, but we decided to walk around the area anyway. There was a good deal of construction going, as well as finished homes, some inhabited by residents. We had spoken to a Village Rep who was then receiving truck loads of golf carts that were being unloaded for the Lifestyle Visit. A sales rep also informed up that These villas would not be listed anytime soon.

It makes sense to move The Lifestyle over from Creekside since all the development and sales is concentrated in the Pine Ridge and Osceola Hills area. Although Brownwood/Paddock Square is not complete, as is Sumter Landing and Spanish Springs, it is still a work in progress with much to offer.

PS - After being home one week, we decided to put an offer in for a pre owned home in Antrim Dells. The closing is coming up soon.

The new locations for LSVs also make sense with Fenny in mind.
