Arrow Who is visiting TV next?

I am!! Be there tomorrow night and leaving Thurs. I am looking at some houses and will be visiting my bro and sis and their friends and relatives. If you see Iowa State, that will be me! Hope to run into some of you very nice people, and avoid the grumpy ones if any.

Default Feb 24th

My wife, the lovely Diane (a grad of Iowa State), and I arrive in TV on Feb 24th for our first LSP. We are counting the days. We know to watch out for the rotaries, and speeding motorists both on the roads and on the cart paths.

We are anxious to get lost driving around TV and talking to residents. I've got a golf game set up with Golfnut and Clekr as my wife does not play golf, and I am very much looking forward to meeting them.

Graciegirl mentioned getting together for dinner one night, and I hope other TOTV'ers will join us so we can meet some of you fine folks.

Default Thanks Tank!

We just happend by TV on our way from Davenport, FL to Ocala National Forest while on vacation in 2000, stopped in to check it out and it was love at first sight.

We're looking forward to getting lost and meeting some nice folks.

Mostly, we look forward to getting away from all the cold and snow, permanently by 2012, we hope. That's the year I turn 62.

Dirigo

PS-Let us hear about your trip when you get back.

We will be arriving on 3/6 and stay thru 3/14 on our second LSP. This will be our seventh visit to TV in the last seven years. Normally we rent for two months (Jan-Feb) but had family conflicts this year so we had to cancel. I didn't want to miss an entire year so we opted for a LSP. It sounds like there have been a lot of changes since last year so we are excited about the visit.

My wife and I will be coming down for a short 3 day Lifestyle visit March 11 through March 14. We will then stay an extra couple of days with friends in TV.

I've been lurking at this site for quite a while now and decided to send my first post. DH and I and bro and sis-in-law will be staying at TV 3/16 thru 3/19 for the first time. I've heard so much about TV and have taken many notes from TOTV. We plan on retiring in 2010. Any tips you can send would be much appreciated as far as must sees, restaurants to visit, activities to either participate in or just view. DH is the only golfer but since his stroke 3 years ago, he cannot go out on his own so we nixed it on this trip. We know it's a short visit and we will be spending a whole day just looking at homes but want to be sure we get a good feel for what life would be like living there. Thanks for any and all help.

Hope you enjoy your visit. My wife and I will be making our second visit in April with the idea of selecting a lot and getting the construction started on our new home in TV. There isn't a better place to be from what we have found. Too bad you have chosen the wrong Iowa team to back (Go Hawkeyes!), but otherwise you are on the right track. Happy hunting!

Well, we have bought our tickets for our next visit. Sadly not until October though I am sure the time will pass quickly?

ToJo - You could look into many threads here on TOTV about what to do on your first visit. Go to the search button above, click 'advanced search', then put in 'visit' and choose 'search titles only' then click submit (easier than I write it) Lots of good info.

One such thread was: What do folks do on their TV preview visit?

Try this search: https://www.talkofthevillages.com/fo...earchid=221066

Good luck!

Default Welcome

There is one thing that first timers and those who haven't been in TV in 6-8 years should keep in mind. You've seen the ads, you've seen the great sales video, you've read a lot about TV and followed TOTV. You really think you know the place.

Well, on about your 3rd or 4th day, you will turn to your host or spouse or some perfect stranger (& our strangers are perfect!) and you'll say "I don't believe this place!!!!" Happens every time.
