A very interesting bit of Legislative History: The McCarran-Walter Act of 1952

Donald Trump was recently severely criticized for suggesting that the U.S. should limit or temporarily suspend the immigration of certain ethnic groups, nationalities, and even people of certain religions (Muslims). The criticisms condemned such a suggestion as, among other things, being “Un-American,” dumb, stupid, reckless, dangerous and racist. Congressmen and Senators swore that they would never allow such legislation, and Obama called such a prohibition on immigration unconstitutional (as if, all of a sudden, he gives a damn about the Constitution).

As Gomer Pyle would say, “Surprise, Surprise!!!” It seems that the selective immigration ban is already law and has been applied on several occasions. The Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952, aka, the McCarran-Walter Act allows for the "Suspension of entry or imposition of restrictions by the president. Whenever the president finds that the entry of aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, the president may, by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.”

Note that McCarran was a Democrat and that this act was utilized by Jimmy Carter, no less, in 1979 to keep Iranians out of the United States—but he actually did more! He made all Iranian students already here check in, and then deported a bunch. Seven thousand were found in violation of their visas, and 15,000 Iranians were forced to leave the United States in 1979. But, you won't hear a word about this from the liberal media propaganda machine.

It is of note too that the act requires that an applicant for immigration ”must be of good moral character” and "attached to the principles of the Constitution.” SINCE THE QURAN FORBIDS MUSLIMS TO SWEAR ALLEGIANCE TO THE U.S. CONSTITUTION, TECHNICALLY, ALL MUSLIMS SHOULD BE REFUSED IMMIGRATION.

Whatever action or policy that seems completely illogical or misplaced by those citizens who are well educated and grounded will be deeply embraced by the Left .

I read and comprehend perfectly well...it allows the banning and expulsion of groups deemed "detrimental". You don't think the hispanic invasion has and will be detrimental?

Are there MORE Irish than anyone else? Was there ever? More Italians than anyone else?

You're missing the point...hispanics...mexicans mostly, are becoming the MAJORITY. It won't be English saying press one for spanish...it'll be "pulse uno para Inglés".

I don't think the McCarren-Walker Act is new information for Trump. The act preceded McCarthyism but it's intention was the same. Would you agree?

The McCarran-Walter Act moved away from excluding immigrants based simply upon country of origin. Instead it focused upon denying immigrants who were unlawful, immoral, diseased in any way, politically radical etc. and accepting those who were willing and able to assimilate into the US economic, social, and political structures, which restructured how immigration law was handled. 1 in 4, 25% of the US population is either foreign born (Mexican) or their anchor baby. Mexicans (minorities) are the MAJORITY of children under age 6. EVERY other country that has gained a minority majority, has lost it's culture and way of life. This IS something to fear. The politicians are ignoring it.

My question is why? Why would those in power, in control want a minority majority? They MUST know what it inevitably leads to...3rd world...a 3rd world US. Why? Why do this?

I can only speak for myself. The people that you fear are not all bad. I don't know how to help you understand. I will think about how I can help you understand and get back to you. My children see things very differently from you so I guess I had something to do with it.

This is what happened when birth control came along in the 1960's and white women stopped staying home and having 15-18 kids each. It is easier to increase the white population than to decrease the black/brown population.

It's probably too late for wifey, but tell the daughters and granddaughters they must, for the sake of this country, give up all ideas of a career and stay home and raise 15-18 kids a piece just like in the old days and what they were intended to do.

I don't know when your parents or grand parents came to this country, seeking a better life, fleeing a criminal society and freedom to get educated a earn a living.

During the 1920s. It was felt all those..maybe your family..were a threat to the USA. The National Origins act was meant to slow down and restrict the Italians, Poles and Russians from coming here. Wonder how your life would have been had your family been denied entrance ?

I KNOW and am WELL AWARE of immigration problems. We have for years, played politics with this issue on BOTH SIDES OF THE AISLE. Now you seem to suggest that the USA totally abandon our heritage, stop working toward any immigration reform, lock the door and cease any conversation.

We have now a candidate in MY party (which embarrasses me) who does not discuss immigration reform beyond closing the door ((perhaps he is unable to discuss it), and actually proposes arming other countries with nukes to save money, and do away with any responsibility for anyone except those he finds acceptable.

This is a man who screwed anything that walked while married (and publicly bragged about it), averted any service to his country, has lied all his life especially to his family. This is a man who publicly assails a federal judge as unable to do his job because HIS PARENTS are from Mexico. Since Trump is German/Scottish this may enter into future proceedings.

This is a man, who by the admission of those who supposedly represented him to fleece elders and others during severe economic times openly and very blatantly. This is a man who labels anyone who disagrees with him with a name, usually having something to do with ethnicity of that person.

So much more about his almost daily lies, but point is, you will shut the door on people and adulate a man who reeks of deceit and deception. On what basis can you do that ?

Donald Trump has broken more laws than anyone trying to cross our borders. Donald Trump, in the last two weeks, has said more negative things about our countries systems and people than anyone even thinking of crossing our borders.

BUT he is rich, as he always reminds us.

He speaks just the opposite of our founders. He will change his mind if he finds something does not serve HIM.

He promis s you ANYTHING YOU WANT TO HEAR, and turns a deaf ear when experts tell him it is not possible, unconstitutional, or crazy. He will repeat the same lie over and over NEVER discussing valid points made to him.
