Default Audiologist

Hi Everyone.
Need some recommendations for a audiologist.
I will be moving to the Villages permanently in a few months and will need to find a new doctor.
I really need to find someone with a lot of experience.
I have profound hearing loss in both ears.
Hearing aids help along with lip reading.
I have only 40 % speech discrimination and that's with wearing hearing aids. I have 0% speech discrimination without the aids.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx

Paige Holt is great. She is at Lake ENT in Lady Lake. 352-775-3671.

I just found out that the Villages Health system has audiologists on staff. I prefer an independent doctor as opposed to the typical hearing aid stores. I have not gone yet, as my first appointment is in August, I just offered this as an option.
Also, carefully review your options for health care when you move here. I would suggest contacting SHINE (SHINE - Home) for unbiased health info. As I understand it Villages Health is an ADVANTAGE plan only and NOT a supplemental plan.

Another vote for Paige Holt. She will work with you as long as it takes to get you into a hearing aid that you feel is the right one.

She has been working with my wife for over a year and after several as in 6 or more different hearing aids finally found the right combination.

The after the sale follow up is for the most part unlimited. We get ours checked twice per year and she cleans them ultrsonically.

She has an unlimited amount of patience. And will not
rush a person into anything.

Price wise she is competitive with any organization.

She has a PhD in audiology. Just a very nice person.

I'll put in another volt for Paige Holt. My wife had new digital hearing aids fitted by the hearing aid center of a major Massachusetts hospital that didn't allow her to hear people in her classes. Paige fitted her with the proper hearing aids and adjusted them until she was able to hear.
There is a great hearing support group in the villages and the movie theaters have assisted listening devices.
We use the Villages Health System and they offer low cost hearing aids so my wife decided to try them out. They are not usable for her daily activities. She carries them when we travel as backups in case there is a problem with the aids that she got from Paige.

SBTB - cute error in first sentence. Volt vs vote. I personally recommend not sticking things with volts in your ears. [emoji41]
