Default Trashing our Flag on the 4th

The Lady 2 doors down, that puts her garbage and trash in the street, just walked buy with her dog, and she stopped at my American flag, and let her dog **** on it!
We see where her head is at…..

Where was your flag that the dog could get at it? Did you say anything to her?

Many of my neighbors and myself have the small flags lining our driveways all the way down to the street, and along the street, so I guess the dog walker exercised her right to be a complete careless idiot, and let her dog do its thing. I am very lucky, as there must be well over a dozen dogs in my immediate neighborhood, and ALL of them are very careful about where their dogs go and cleaning up after them.

OP, I have seen some motion activated ultrasonic dog avoidance devices, maybe 1 or 2 of these positioned on your lawn and the dog will learn to avoid it.

Not saying this is true about this lady....but I know of a woman who has dementia and walks her dog occassionally. MIGHT be the case here as well!! Though I'd still be angry!!

Although it may look nice ,and those that do it may feel patriotic, I've never understood putting any flag so close to the ground that things like this could happen. Cemeteries may be the only place this display should occur. There aren't any dogs walking around cemeteries. There aren't cars driving by and splashing water and dirt onto the flags during a storm.,and hopefully caretakers of the property aren't allowing the flags to touch the ground. Also the American flag isn't supposed to be flown lower than any flag in its vicinity.
Regardless of how I feel if someone is allowing a dog to relieve itself on a flag something is terribly off with this person. IMHO

Actually, I were the judge in the case, I would wave the fine and the prison term, and sentence her to 1 year community service, 8 hours a day, 1 day/week. The time would be split between embroidering stars on American flags while listening to a tape loop of John Phillip Sousa's "The Stars and Stripes Forever" and teaching inner city underprivileged kids the Pledge of Allegiance (and possibly one highly placed elected official as well)

Think flag desecration, especially politically motivated flag burning, has been ruled on already. It is considered Free Speech.

Not sure how a dog relieving itself falls into that decision...but somehow, i doubt this incident will be heard by the Supreme Court.

Besides the flag, she doesn't think much of you. It's your yard and your flag and her dog. If I had seen that, I would of gone outside and delivered a few choice words and if a water hose was near, I would quickly watered down the urine on the grass and on the flag and tried my best not get her too wet if she was in the way.

No. The dog in question did however pledge allegiance to the dog in the picture
