Prayers Needed

Prayers are needed for my good friend in Los Angeles who has found out that her 3 year old son has a rare disease called United Mitochondrial Disease (UMDF).Things are not looking good for this little boy and it has broken my heart for the past 3 to 4 days and I can think of nothing more than how broken hearted my girlfriend is. Please pray for Kyle, he is an adorable child and may never see another birthday. Does anyone know of this disease? I've never heard of it. Thanks for your prayers.

Oh Kath.....I know the feeling of losing a youngster as I lost a five-year old handsome boy to pneumonia. My heart goes out to your friend and will send all the love and wishes and hopes for a miracle for the little tyke. Here's what I found online about UMDF .....Love, Barb

I will include your friend and her little boy in my prayers. This is a devastating disease and they will need all the support that family can possibly get from everyone.

kathie, you are so sweet to ask for prayers here...what a great idea...i will add kyle to my daily rosary. you once told me of a novena you made that worked a miracle for a friend....time to do it again...love you...

You're right Cha, that Novena did work, now I just have to find it here in TV. Not many churches have it. My heart is so sad these days. Love ya too...

one can always turn to the novena to st. jude (a prayer repeated for nine consecutive days asking for st. jude to pray for our petition). for those who think this is hogwash...please bear with me:

Just thought I'd share with you a message from Kyle's Mom that I received last night. I sent her a link of this thread so she could feel the love from TOTV'ers. This was her response:

Hi Kathie!
This is absolutely an amazing prayer chain. I read each of the responses. Thank you so much for asking your friends to prayer for our little man. Paul and I said the prayer to St. Jude this evening and will continue to do so. Our good friend Scott-Vincent Borba and his family have also been praying novenas. I believe God is hearing our pleas and is merciful -- Kyle is doing a bit better each day. I am hoping he might be able to come home from the hospital in about a month.

PS - His illness is actually called 'Leigh Syndrome'. It is a type of Mitochondrial Disease. The United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation (UMDF) actually helps to research for cures and help families :-)
