Default Sky asian fusion

We've eaten at the Sky in Ocala. Excellent experience, but pricey. The Sky here in The Villages (Rolling Acres plaza, across from Moe's & Carvel) is much more reasonable, nicely decorated, & they also provide take-out service. I dropped in on Sunday afternoon and was greeted warmly, although they weren't to open for a few minutes (3 p.m. on Sundays). The aroma that greeted me was fantastic. We plan to dine there very soon.

Default First timers at Skye

We enjoyed a Valentines Day dinner at Sky Asian Fusion. We were very pleased with the entrees served family style averaging about $12 each. The wok entrees are low in number but great on taste and unbelievable service! We enjoyed the lettuce roll-ups as an appetizer and the orange chicken and Mongolian beef and snow peas for our entrees. It is larger than the storefront looks with a simple elegant interior.

We've had only great experiences with Sky Asian in TV. Last month, our red hat group (about 20 of us) went and they even handled that size of group beautifully. Everyone really enjoyed their meal. Now I want some Mongolian Beef!

I hope this place does make it. Comments above are very encouraging. I liked the hot dog joint that was there, though a tad pricey, but I never liked the location. Plenty of people go to Outback and Carrabas right around the corner, so it can't be distance. I think it will need a strong word-of-mouth to do well.

P.S. What is Asian Fusion? Sounds like something from a secret North Korean underground facility.

Went to Sky last night and was very pleased. The menu was small but items were favorites and they do have specials. Do not expect "Chinese restaurant" portions and prices but no complaints. Had cappucino creme brulee for dessert and was enchanted! Decor was beautiful, service was very good. Would recommend. Hope they expand their menu tho!

Default Reservations?

Dp they take reservations? Would you need them? I have only been to the Ocala Sky and loved it - whenever I hear TV Sky mentioned I always say I need to try it.

We've been fans of Sky since it opened. Always delicious and fun. Price is not bad for a good restaurant, but not nearly as cheap as the buffets. It's a different kind of place, nd a nice meal for four, including 3 dessert came to $60- wich I thoughwas well worth it.

They get busier by the day, and I think that's a testament to the overall quality.

Asian Fusion is a mix of contemporary takes on Asian food (Lighter, less sauces) as a mix of Chinese, Korean, Thai & Philipino to name a few. The lettuce wraps (yum) are Korean, the pad thai is Thai, and the pancit is a favorite Philipino dish. Lemon grass is southeast asian in general.

Weve brought a number of guests, Villagers & friends and the Vilageers have all returned on their own, bringing their own guests.

Went back to Sky for lunch- Excellent as usual, but the prices are a bit less than dinner. Companion & I ordered the lettuce wraps, gourmet fried rice & szechuan shrimp- More than enough for the two of us.

They do take reservations now- even for parties of two. It's also great to have a quality non-chain restaurant on this end of The Villages (In Target parking lot) instead of haveing to trek all the way out to the "wild west" of 466! lol

Tried Sky Fusion for the first time. It was fantastic! We went today for a late lunch. When you ask for spicy you get spicy. In many restaurants when you request spicy it can still be bland. We were very happy with the food, service and price. We will return!

Default Taylor Bean & Whittaker

Sky Fusion was owned by the President of Taylor Bean & Whittaker. I am sure everyone has read the news about Taylor Bean & Whittaker closing after the FBI raided 1 1/2 weeks ago. If not, go on line to Ocala Star Banner.

The Sky Fusion in Ocala was still open as of yesterday.

Gator,

Thanks for the tip.... I guess the local Villages Sky Asian restaurant is indeed closed. Darn, I never got a chance to try it.

Here's a link to the article:
