Perhaps some of you have see this site. I have been curious
about the octuplet mom's living conditions when she will have 16 children,
which I can't comprehend!!

Island Gal, I will go and look at this site as soon as I say this. Does it look like she has had lip augmentation done as per Angelina Jolie? Also she had a manicure. More time than most people would choose to be away or could spare to be away from six children under eight.

My first impression of her is that she is well meaning without realizing what she had done and hasn't passed out of her playing doll phase. (Who said "There are a lot of good intentioned people in hell?")

Just returned from looking at this site. I can't see how they can find room for these little ones. Little children have high incidents of communicable disease and immunizing colds that they will pass to these little babies who are not very strong to begin with. The mother (grandmother) is to be pitied. She too is stuck by a deplorable decision made by her daughter, (I think of Cindy Anthony) This goes beyond being materialistic. The emotional stress of raising these children and being one of these children in incalculable.

It seems to me that the mother has given little thought to where the money is coming from to feed and clothe these children. She says she has received no public assistance. I imagine that the tax payers will foot the bill eventually. It seems that all that mom had was an idea.

Thankfully I have not had to go through invitro, but I have had friends that have...and from what I understand it is very costly! Where on earth does she get the money to do this?

If she indeed has this kind of money than she should be able to get a new home and several nannies....somehow I don't see this happening.

Thanks for the post because I did not see these pictures before. I feel sorry for the grandmother for sure. The mother and clinic should be investigated and dealt with.

IVF is very expensive yet is coverered under some plans for a certain number of attempts. BUT should it be covered when you already have 6 children? Maybe our new economy will force some hard choices to be made. This one is an easy one.

Well perhaps I should move this question to political...BUT if she was not working then my guess would be that she and her children are on Medicaid! Just a guess! So that means that our tax dollars helped her get pregnant! Now will our tax dollars help her care for the children as well? I know she states she has not recieved any governement help, but I could have sworn I heard she did.

I have just seen photos of the 8 babes. They look incredible for ones that were born so premature!
But, what on earth is she thinking?? Maybe she has seen Jon & Kate plus 8 and wants to get a little bit of the action?

On television this morning, they said she had been injured while working at a mental institution, and had received something like $165,000 as a settlement. They went on to say her Mother did not know she had received this money.

This story gets more incredible, the more we hear. She definitely has a problem. No one with any sense at all would want so many children without the means to care for them.

My children all have good jobs and stable home lives, but they all decided to stop at just two children each. They felt that they could handle two emotionally and financially.

Friends of my daughter tried in vitro which didn't work, and they couldn't afford more tries. They didn't realize that the state hospitalization plan (the husband is a state worker) had just started covering a good portion of in-vitro. I told my daughter to pass on the information. The woman eventually had twins (boy and girl), and just recently had another child naturally. If this hadn't happened, they would have kept their family size to two kids.

My first thought when I heard this story was how she was paying for all that in-vitro.

According to stories, she has received around $165,000 in disability because she supposedly had a back injury during the years when she had all these kids.

You can bet that it's the taxpayers who will pay for the hospital bills. Or, their health insurace premiums will increase, in order to provide needed financial recovery for the hospital. I haven't watched any long stories/intervews about the mother. However, it appears to me that she certainly has "head" problems. I may be wrong, but I think she's interested in having a television career (like Kate and John, or that other show where there are 17 or 18 kids).

I do not think this woman should be rewarded by having a tv career or even by having donations of food, diapers, etc. I rather think these children should be taken away from her as she clearly has no way of providing adequate support for their care. Besides, I'd hate to see the children raised by a mother who has "head" problems. Perhaps even some of the older children need to be investigated by child welfare services. There are loads of well caring people in society who would love to adopt a child.

I realize what I've said here could upset lots of people reading this. Just saying what is my personal opinion. You have a right to a different opinion.

I did see the grandmother of these children on GMA this morning and from what she said it has been her taking care of the the six kids at their home.

I've asked myself the same questions, how did she pay for all the in-vitro treatments, how does she pay for these kids is she has no job. Sounds like she takes care of herself and not the kids. The poor grandmother has had it from what she said this morning.

I think the doctor or clinic should be investigated and I feel that this women should not be rewarded for her irresponsibility. She gave no thought to how these children would be raised and only thought about herself with her excuse that she wanted a big family. So why implant all those eggs at one time when she had been doing only one pregnancy at a time and from the ages one every year.

I feel sorry for the children because they have such a mother.

I am sure that she is already out there collecting money for interviews and pictures. It makes it seem like she did this last pregnancy for the money and notoriety it would bring her.

I think she is incredibly naive. Is she well intentioned? Who knows. But I'll bet she is loving every second of the publicity. And there is talk of a TV show for her, a book, and a movie!

She was quoted just after the birth that she thought this would be enough to get a lot of free stuff including a house and a car.

Take the kids away and put them in decent homes and put her to work!!

While I agree that what she did was very irresponsible...I have to agree with Tony that I have not heard her say anything at all about wanting freebies. I actually thought it was reported that she did not want to speak or have her name out there as she wasn't doing it for the publicity. Who knows what she is thinking! I can't imagine she is even capable of thinking through anything at the moment...with 14 kids! YIKES!!! that $165,000 will be gone pretty fast if it isn't already!

I am one of 8 and my father worked 3 jobs at times....thankfully he is a very educated man and was able to care for us all and enable Mom to stay home until we were all a little older. Of course being Irish Catholic there were some portions of education that were left out...hehehe....I always told them they should have stopped after just 2!!
