Default How refreshing

it is to have a President that is articulate, charming, bright, and HONEST. He can actually form sentences and pronounce words correctly. He is honest and tells the truth.
Now the previous President however, sounded like an Archie Bunker clone. He could not form a sentence, even when it was written for him. He says he protected us from terrorists......much the same as gang members when they offer their "protection" for $$$$ to line their own pockets IE : Blackwater.
If we are "ONE NATION UNDER GOD" and we are family, then we should look out for each other, instead of the GREED and SELFISHNESS that pervade this nation.
In families, we look out for the sick, and children, and helpless. We do not say "I worked for what I got....you get your own" We help each other.
We do not all start out even in life. Some are born with a "silver spoon".....others cannot afford to go to college. Instead of gloating or flaunting it....how about giving back? Not just monetary wise, but by volunteering to assist others. I am beginning to think that the author of Leisureville is not as far off as some of the members on here think.
The feeling of entitlement in TV is pervasive.
Remember Do unto others as you would like done to you.
Remember too that you cannot take it with you.
AND above all Remember that "THERE BUT FOR THE GRACE OF GOD GO I"

UH OH.....I spoke bad of the Villages....guess I will be banned

LOLOLOL. I doubt you will be banned GeorgeN, but the "do unto to others" and "there but for the grace of God" reminders are always good for me to hear out loud once in a while. Thanks for my daily reminder.

and HONEST? He is honest and tells the truth?

"There are no earmarks in my spending bills"

Can you say whopper!!

I know what you are saying though. These days it's all about style. Substance or outcomes really don't matter anymore as long as you say it well.

I will concur on the articulate, charming and bright part, but the honesty is well in doubt if you have been paying any attention !!!

And you can say what you want about The Villages...but I KNOW that most folks here are giving and caring people..that is a FACT.

But guess what.....I, at least, do not want the government taking my money to give out to who they see fit...I can do that much better. I also do not think it is a right to go to college, etc...I think that is a privilege earned !!!

Your statment about "The feeling of entitlement in TV is pervasive." is a bit offensive to me as I have no idea where you live but in my 8 years here, the giving and sharing has been light years ahead of anywhere I can think of in this country, and would love you to share how you can justify your accusation of "The feeling of entitlement in TV is pervasive."

They are politicians and by their very nature are lairs. The say want needs to be said in order to keep and grow their power and influence.

I'll ad another to the list.

"95% of all Americans are going to get a tax cut."

Big fat lie. There are no tax cuts.

There is no rate reduction in payroll taxes for anyone.

All we are getting is a tax credit and guess what? The tax credit is taxable. Yes indeed my fellow tax paying Americans. That means next year the increase in your paycheck will be added as pure income that is taxable.

I'll have to change my withholding a bit to take it into account so I don't burned. Meaning that even though it's a small amount it actually could end up costing me more in taxes depending on where my income lands for this year.

Nice touch Obama.

DK:
I heard the same thing on the radio today. Yes that NO one is getting a tax cut but only the credit that you will be taxed on . I wouldn't mind paying the taxes if they were going to our national defense and not the PORKULUS BILL.

Default Business as usual!

He has not GOT IT (to coin his feel good rhetorical statement).

He has in fact condoned the continuation of PORK.

He is a politician. If his lips are moving he is most likely lying....apparently too many like the way he says it....and don't care if he doesn't do it.

Default You are blaming the wrong person

You are blaming the wrong person for the crisis. The previous administration has the economy rolling all right.......DOWNHILL FAST.....NOW we want to blame the current administration , who has been handed the wheel and tried to apply the brakes, for the current crash that is happening. As is often the case in baseball and elsewhere, the current administration is handed the reins and expected to repair damage that is irreparable and continuing. The effects of the previous administration will be felt for years.
Do not judge the President too soon, 4 WEEKS ?????? Some of you certainly should take your head out of your (_)_). Patience is prudent here as well as some CHANGE. As in baseball, sometimes the management is replaced too soon, due to impatience and the effects of their work is attributed to a new manager. The new manager gets credit for the hard work of the previous manager. I have seen this happen for winning and losing teams. I know that my choices and actions do not usually bring immediate effects and consequences. Most of the time the effects and or consequences are felt for a long period

You have quite a mouth and are quite the judge of everyone arent you ?

Thus far...THREE POSTS...which is no problem, but in one of those you say "The feeling of entitlement in TV is pervasive." and in another you suggest we "Some of you certainly should take your head out of your (_)_)."

Well, our new President, while many of us disagree on his idealogy, doesnt talk like that nor do many of the posters here !!!!

I have a big problem with your comment on entitlement. That word is wildly overused, and it should be banned from any intelligent conversation. But in defense of the residents of TV, I will have to say that most people in TV have retired after many years of paying real dollars into the Social Security System, and feel "entitled" to their benefits. How can you argue with that? It's their money! Regarding the president, I too am very impressed with his myriad abilities, not the least of which is his eloquence. But I am very nervous about the obvious strategy of income redistribution. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt, but it is clear that he is intent on reversing the Reagan Revolution. I loved President Reagan, but can agree that his agenda went too far in favor of the corporate interests. But I also feel that Obama is moving way too fast in the opposite direction. We need action, but in a moderate way. So far I'm a lot more nervous than confident.

I am in total agreement with you. You are wonderfully articulate and perceptive. Nervous is exactly how I feel too.
