Default High speed internet here in TV?

I currently use broad band being supplied by the one and only cable provider here in TV.
As I look at he alternatives for broadcast availability that seems pretty straight forward...programming...price...etc.

My challenge is to look for alternates for high speed internet.

I am aware of Verizon's air card and understand it works pretty well. Any comments here would be appreciated.

Are there other providers that are considered acceptable alternatives to cable broadband.

Default high speed internet

I used to have what they call a dial up connection. I changed to embarq high speed . Now i combine my phone bill with my monthly internet bill all on my phone bill. It realy worked out well and the bottom line is that after it was all said and done i am paying about 18.00 more now than before i changed. Thats 18 a month more.

I spoke with an EMBARQ rep today and was quoted a price of $29.95 for mthly phone service and $59.90/mth to bundle phone with 3.0M speed internet service.

Their website has a lot of info available.

Does anyone know an option for high speed internet that doesn't involve a telephone? We opted not to have a land line, so we've been subscribing to Comcast at a special introductory rate, but that will soon go up. I'm suprised they can't do something Village-wide at a cheaper rate. Back home, our township had a supplier come in, and we only paid around $20/month for high speed. I think they set up their equipment on the town's water tower.

Taj44, double check the comcast, we use their wireless on the lowest speed (but you have to ask for it!!!!!) and it's $24 /month and seems to work fine unless you do a lot of video, etc.

We now employ Version Wireless Broadband in a laptop at $59 a month. We get excellent performance at our homes in the Village of Hadley, in NJ and on the road in between.
