Medicare for all---sounds good on the surface, but....

The plan is going bankrupt with just seniors, imagine the deficit if everyone was included. Your FICA withholding would dwarf your income tax!!!!

I think that the richest country in the world should provide healthcare and education for all. it is just not right to agree that only rich successful people should be able to afford both.

Medicare is the crappiest program we have. What a disgrace! You pay for it for 45 years or more before you can use it, and then it only covers hospitalization. Nothing else.. That's got to be a crime.

I would gladly pay you back every cent you paid in to Medicare if I could have what Medicare is going to spend on you until you reach room temperature. That is the real problem with Medicare.

Medicare has not spent a dime on me yet. I have full coverage private insurance. Medicare is a waste and if I could I wouldn't have paid into it.

Obama wanted a single payer system and thanks to Obamacare, it looks like he will see it. Believe me when I say that we do NOT want socialized medicine. I have been to and lived in many countries and have seen the nightmares. In those type of countries, only the rich make out in health care.

I'll take that deal. But before you agree, realize I've paid about 300K into it, which invested at the average market return of 8% would double every 9 years. So take the midpoint, 150K, and multiply by 16 for a total return of 2.4 million. Since Medicare pays 80% of approved charges, that's an even 3 million in charges. Still want to make the deal??????

You pay a pittance compare to what you get. Medicare part A is hospitalization, part B is doctors, part D is prescriptions started in 2008. Just how many in nursing homes on welfare, vegetables, yet given a mirad of tests.

Nope, I have Medicare and I have researched it enough to know what I have and don't have. I bet you a dollar to a donut that you don't if you are in disagreement with my statement. Go ahead and look up Medicare "A" coverage, because that is ALL you get for all those years you invested in it. Medicare "b, c, d, etc" are all supplements that you pay extra for AFTER you reach Medicare eligibility, if you desire to pay for it. And what is really interesting is that you basically have to tell them that you do not wish them to take out $105 per month from your social security to pay for Medicare B. Check it out on their website if you don't believe me. I have medicare "A" and it doesn't pay for much else except hospitalization. No doctor visits, no prescriptions, etc. So, am I wrong?

I pay close to a grand per month for private health insurance for my wife an I. Medicare A is redundant. If I had nothing else but Medicare A, it still wouldn't be enough and I would have to allow them to take funds from my social security to pay for Medicare B and D.
