Default Hi, New Member Here!

Hey all, I am new to the Village Family but soon hope to be an old hand. My wife and I took the Lifestyle Visit and are now planning to purchase and retire fulltime to The Villages. We are looking at the Savannah Courtyard Villas, Beauregard floor plan.
We are just starting into all this so any help would be GREAT!

Hi:

We have a CYV in Hadley with the Beauregard floor plan and love it. Currently we are renting it and updating it as we go till we retire and move full time. Let me know if I can answer any questions for you.

Army Guy,

I am definitely no expert. However, one thing I did, and continue to do, is search this site for information which usually leads to previous threads with the answer(s) I'm seeking. I have found people here are incredibly willing to lend you their time and expertise in all things Villages related. Good luck.

My husband and I have been coming to the Villages for over ten years and loved each and every style of home we stayed in.

Welcome, Army Guy, from a retired Army Guy.

You're gonna love it here. Lots to do for everyone but especially lots for us vets. Several organizations, a VA clinic (and a bigger one under construction), Retired Military Family Group club, the "normal" variety of veterans organizations, etc. The Veteran Services Office here is very good and very helpful. Welcome aboard!

ok, now some of you have me wondering....why Villa envy?

The wife and I really like the Villa concept and look. Especially like the fenced yard since we have asmall dog. Would have loved a golf view, BUT don't trust the small fence! Our dog is a Cairn Terrier and if any of you know anything about terriers they can get out of almost anyplace!
Also like the concept of very low outside maintence. After years of cutting the yard, trimmming bushes, etc I want something I can make non-maintence and in the villas I can do that.
Like the size also since we are looking to downsize in retirment since it is just the two of us and the dog!

Good luck Army guy. I was 10th Mountain division myself but, that was a long time ago. You are going to love it here. We are here for about a month now and frankly, we need a day off to rest. We decided to rent for our first year here, as we feel there is so much to learn about The Villages. For example, we never even considered a Villa but, we rented one on a golf course and we absolutely love it. We are now searching for a courtyard villa for a long term lease or a lease purchase or even a purchase, for the right one. So Mr Army guy, we wish you the best. Coming here will be the best move you could have made.

Beartrack thanks! Believe it or not I was on the Project Team that created the Light Inf Div and placed the 10th at Drum! In the original plan it was suppose to go to Dix, for deployability, but politics!!

We have been searching up and down the East Coast for the past 5 years looking for our retirement location. The Villages was the last place we visited and became very clear that it was for us. When doing the Pros and Cons for each place we had on the list, we could come up with no Cons for TV.

Yes, we are looking to purchase a CYV, Savannah Style.

Thanks, Army Guy

Thumbs up Right Decision on TV

Welcome Army Guy. Hope to see you eventually at TOTV monthly meeting at Crispers. We already bought in TV and are stuck in KY trying to sell our home.

Sorry about that. TOTV = Talk of The Villages. and TV is The Villages.

You'll have to forgive me. This is the first day this year we're pushing towards 80 deg and sunny. I'm about to lose my mind.
