![]() ![]() This was my best friend from when I was at the University of Denver Graduate School of Librarianship and Information Management in 1983-1984. He was a librarian at the University of Mosul and went back there in 1984. We corresponded for a few years but mutually broke our friendship off after he became radicalized by the propaganda machine of Saddam Hussein. Saddam Hussein - Wikipedia If he survived the various evils that have held onto Mosul, I do wish he makes it out of the latest struggle. I doubt if we can renew any kind of friendship though after what he must have seen and probably did. Last edited by Taltarzac725; 10-19-2016 at 12:24 PM. |

He had a number of Muslim/Arab University of Denver friends and all of them would have their wives and kids in the same room as us. This is going to be an incredibly tough battle for Mosul in the upcoming weeks or even months. One thing that really bothered me about my Iraqi friend back then was all the crude Kurd jokes he would tell. I just cannot see how he could have survived the last two years in Mosul without joining ISIS. It is possible but seems unlikely. |
