That moon you call "exquisitely slender" is when I call it that "tiny, silver slip of a moon." I say that every time I see it looking like that. And for some reason, I say it in a deep Southern accent that is just as sweet and syrupy and long and drawn out as can be. But I know that phrase is not original with me. But, unlike "ribbon of moonlight," I do not know where I got this one. It might have been from some Tennessee Williams character along the way. The Cincinnati sky is really clear so far. ("Severe clear" is what Mr. Boomer calls such a sky, in that pilotspeak language he uses sometimes.) So anyway, I will be able to see this moon. And I will call it "a tiny, silver slip of a moon." You should say it along with me. In your very best Tennessee Williams character accent. It's fun. (Uh oh, though, come to think of it, weren't all of Tennessee Williams' characters bonkers?)
