SS has character. The buildings have aged with that certain aura of grace. The people definitely have character also. I believe that with the cart paths being so bad, once you arrive there, you appreciate the atmosphere so much more.

Market Square is fun but Spanish Springs is quaint and has more character.

Wife and I have never liked the Spanish style so it just doesn't appeal. We like the seashore feeling of LSL and also like the stores there better.
Also like walking the boardwalk after dinner and nightly dancing.

It's like trying to pick between a glass of sangria and a rum-and-coke. There's a time you'd like one, and another time the other. Both are great.

Sorry I voted. It was at 20 to 20 - should have left it there.

Poll needed a third option - like both.

Thats a pretty good comparison. We like going to LSL. More of the open feeling there. Also like the water.

I think my preference is based on being from California -- Spanish Springs has more of a California flair; LSL is more northeastern. Even so, I really like them both. So, we're back to a tie.

We love Sumter Landing because it is less crowded and has far less people from outside the Villages. Just wish they had more different types of restaurants...maybe a medium cost sea food place.

Me thinks the "bad trails" are the trails north of Rt. 466. That's why they are going to redo them. They are old fashioned, cracked and bumpy and very narrow.

Default Great Groups Of The Villages

For me it all depends who the entertainment is. Both Town Squares are worth the trip.

A great poll would be who do you go out of your way to see. My foavorites are listed below.

Carribian Chillers
http://www.caribbeanchillers.com/

Lenny Wilson Trio
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKQik0oiJuU&feature=related[/ame]

Rocky & The Rollers

Norman Lee & The Boondock Saints

Scooter The DJ

Paul Vesco Band

Cactus Jacl & The Cadillacs
http://www.bopper.com/

Donna Moore & Dunning Shaw on Monday nights at Katie Belle's

Earth Beat

Red Neck Country Club Band

Cheers

Cool Breeze

I am sure that I missed a good group or more than just one. We have many groups worth seeing that play here on a regular basis. If you google most of the above you will see what I am talking about

Thumbs up

We like both, but if push came to shove we would go with SS. LSL seems to attract too many people from outside TV, especially at the movie theatre.

Always found SS to crowded for carts, cars, etc. and very slow moving around it. The lake at LSL adds to the area along with finer eateries, shops and so on. Like them both but favor LSL. Not from west coast like Redwitch but love southwetern styles. Made our home in Northeast similar to Arizona homes.
