Default A Strategy for the Democrats to Regain Power

The Democrats are down, but not out.

If the party can simply follow the guidance as cited in this WaPo article, they can come roaring back and kick Republican bu*tt.

I hope trumps daughter will become the 1st female president in 8 years. It would be fitting for Hillary to watch, if she is still alive.

with a republican elected to the White House, republicans in the majority in both houses of congress and republican governors in 31 of 50 states, I think that the best strategy for the democrats is to get rid of their extreme left wing and start coming up with policies that are closer to republican ideas.

Sixty years ago there was anywhere near the difference in the two parties that there is today. Then the democrats went off the deep end and moved way, way to the left. A socialist running for president fifty years ago would have been unheard of. It almost happened this year and if Donna Brazille hadn't cheated, it would have happened.

Black Lives Matter, welfare state, gay marriage and a host of other far left issues would have been unthinkable to democrats of the '50s and 60's. JFK would be turning in his grave to listen to some of the ideas put forth today by the extremist of his party.

The democrats need to return to their roots as the party of working people and not the party of the non worker, extremist nuts.

Good post ... you're exactly right, and that's really the point of the WaPo article too.

Ideally, yes. But, these folks are not just liberal, they are socialists. The left party is welcoming the socialist ideology. Look at the support Bernie had/has. It may be too late for the Democrats to move to the center.

How can they draw back from being the party dependent upon the black, hispanic, gay and other special interests (hand outs).

The only way they can maintain these folks is to continue with the socialist provisions of government.

If Trump makes anywhere near the magnitude of improvements to America that the potential offers.....the democrats will be a party of the past with the likes of Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi and others too numerous to mention.

The American people have spoken....no more BS from the elected few!!!

Ivanka Trump becoming president would be the first woman president, first Orthodox Jewish president, and first daughter of a pres to become pres. Would she run as a republican or democrat, her current party?

Holy cow folks I'm still back at watching Trump's transition team be completed, for his decision on on he will avoid any appearance of a conflict of interest ; albeit I believe it is impossible because all of his business trades on the name "Trump" and he completes his forst 100 days in office

Personal Best Regards:

"Come roaring back and kick republican butt" Do you not realize THIS IS NOT A BASKETBALL GAME? Oh clearly you do not see it.

The AMERICAN people elected OBAMA A SOCIALIST, PRO BLACK, PRO MUSLIM, PRO LIBERAL. The democrats fielded HILLARY CLINTON half of the PROVEN CRIMINAL CLINTON PAIR. If, you looked with opened eyes you would have seen that Hillary did not stand for more Obama even though she desperately tried to attach herself to Obama's apron strings. HILLARY is actually LEFT OF OBAMA.

THE PEOPLE SAID LOUD AND CLEAR WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF THIS CRAP.

I doubt you are man enough but hopefully once TRUMP takes office you will be pleasantly surprised.
