Default Obama to the auto execs,

don't fly your company jets to Washington on taxpayers dime!!!

Obamas' date in NY cost US at LEAST $250 thousand dollars! That is the reported price of the photo shoot over NY. I would imagine that his date cost way more than that flyover.

I guess it's the old "do as I say, not as I do" that we got from our parents all over again in a liberal government.

Default The President and His Family Deserve a Life

just as the rest of us do. The security of the President and his family is in the interest of the United States. Having them not spend their time entirely in a gilded cages does not serve our interests either. I want my President to live as normal a life as possible. Yes, that means security must always be there whether it is on Broadway, at the Crawford Ranch, vacationing in the Virgin Islands, spending summer at the family home in Maine, etc. That security has been and will continue to be expensive.

I am certainly do not Hold BHO in high regard. That being said, he is still my President and I do wish him well and do pray for his health and well being.

Default No big deal

I guess that spending that much money on a date in NY is no big deal to the majority of posters here, seeing that there were only two responses. Gnu even realizes that the Obamas need a life also, but, a one night date in NY at our expense is a little much!

The Corporate execs were chastised for flying to Washington on business at their respective company expense, but a one night date on us is OK?

Are there no plays performed in the DC area for their date.

Mrs Gnu and I feel lucky to be able to go two towns over for a $25 date night. How about your date night expenses?

Ordinarily it would not bother me, but the present occupant of the white house has made numerous remarks about our changing our way of life and that maybe we live too high off the hog. (my words).
I would think that he would lead by example. After all, he has a theatre , bowling alley etc. at his diposal right there at home.
At least Jimmy Carter had the decency to wear a sweater when he asked us, on television, to turn our heat down on our thermostats.
