Just wanted to spread the word that this Thursday morning from 9:30 to 11:30 there will be a band playing at Spanish Springs for easy listening...the band is the popular Sparkey's Strummers, a group of about 15 musicians who play banjo, guitars etc for music of the 1900-1950 era, including parodies and lots of fun among the fellows...sounds like a pleasant way to spend a Thursday morning...see you there!

That does sound like fun and I think I will have my 10 year old granddaughter with us - she will like that.

There is more music on Thursday mornings. The New Horizons Band plays at the Hibiscus Rec Center from 10 to 12PM.
The Villages Concert Band plays on Tuesday evenings (tonite) from 7 to 9PM at Mulberry Rec Center. The Jazz Workshop plays from 8:30 to 10:30 AM on Wenesdays at Laurel Manor and the Villages Swing Band from 2:30 to 4:40PM every Thursday from 2:30 to 4:30PM at Mulberry Rec Center. After speaking with a few people I was told they thought these practices were closed to other Villagers. Nothing could be more from the truth. To the contrary, we welcome other Villagers to come in, pick a chair and just sit down to listen. There are a few "regulars" who show up at rehearsals but you don't have to play or pay. Just come in, sit down and listen. It's all FREE and it's all Good. Summer Break is coming up after the July 5th concerts at Savanah Center. So now is a good time to come listen.
