Exactly. The social justice warrior(SJW) campaign is simply inane and insane. Why do some people in power over reach on every issue.

What would these SJW say or do about a person that identifies with being Napoleon? I suppose buy him a uniform and a haircut and have him pose for a portrait so that he could show his friends its true.

I agree and would support taxpayer money to assist people with mental health and disability issues but they would also have to revamp the mental/medical health laws that hamper family support, etc.

Personal Best Regards:

We should subsidize sex changes for ALL murderers and sex offenders. Make it mandatory and do it like you would when you castrate hogs. If the left refuses to execute murderers and rapists, then take away their manhood and leave them in with the general population of the pen. What's next, are the libtards going to supply them with makeup and pantyhose?

Didn't read the story?

"It also prompted a federal magistrate to require California to provide transgender female inmates housed in men's facilities with more female-oriented items such as nightgowns, scarves and necklaces."

The prison supplies them with nightgowns and jewelry, so they can feel "feminine".

I know what they can use the scarves for...it goes around the neck too.

$100,000 so some murdering queer can feel good about himself.

Gender confusion is just a fad for those with a mental disorder. Of course, if they are in jail they are most likely mentally disturbed anyway. Just more interest being generated for deviant behavior. And another reason to legalize post-natal abortion.

California - The land of the fruits and nuts...

Biggest problem I see, is the reporter is biased, and / or , written a column in a way to gain support for the measure. Here the director of Transgender Law is quoted as though he is a medical expert:

“For too long, institutions have ignored doctors and casually dismissed medically necessary and life-saving care for transgender people just because of who we are,” said Kris Hayashi, executive director of the Transgender Law Center, which represents Quine and other transgender inmates.

Followed up with a non professional quote from his daughter...why are there no quotes from any professional that does not share the director of Transgender Law Centers view??

Goes on to quote the corrections spokesperson claiming the 8th amendment of the US constitution was worded differently than what it actually is. The 8th amendment states: Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted
It does not state: that prisons provide inmates with medically necessary treatment for medical and mental health conditions including inmates diagnosed with gender dysphoria.

Then in an attempt to justify costs (besides the director of Transgender law center claim that costs were exaggerated), the reporter throws this in as the closer: A portion of the state's expense generally is reimbursed by the federal government, Hayhoe said. The percentage varies depending on individual circumstances, but it can cover up to 95% of allowable charges.

Well that makes it seem less expensive for the residents of the state, because everyone in the country is chipping in for this nutjobs surgery...

AND; Why do they care if a person that is serving a life sentence for MURDER, tries to kill himself (5 times supposedly)?

when do we get back to the intent of being found guilty, incarcerated for punishment.

8X8 cell, potty in the corner, 3 meal a day and that is it.

All the other bs perks like television, tennis courts, special surgeries and all the other bleeding heart perks only reflect the mentality of the organization. In this case as with other wierdo cases is in CA.

Give them a pick and a shovel and put them to work fixing the most terrible highway system in the country.

They are entitled to no more. What part of punishment did CA wacko/wierdo politicians lose track of?

Life Saving???? Exactly what would be our loss? People with that kind of mental problem are of no use anyway and should be ignored. If they die because of their gender confusion, then it is no loss to the normal people. There are enough REAL handicapped that are functional and deserving of our help than these mentally disturbed people. So, I say let them die and hope they do it quickly.

As a matter of fact, why are murderers allow to live anyway? They should be executed, not coddled.

While I am absolutely supportive of stopping the hatred and violence toward transgender people shown by a majority of the ignorant neanderthals types we see down here in the PF...this is actually too far.

A person serving life (or any other sentence for that matter) in prison...should not be able to have taxpayers pay for it.

Medical care?

Yes.

Sex reassignment?

No.

No.
Why ANY medical care for life sentences...doesn't it say, "until the end of your natural life" in there when they sentence them to life with no parole?

Getting sick and dying IS part of nature...medical care isn't nature, it's man. It would say..."until the end of your life"...period...no descriptor. We're not supposed to be saving them just so they can die later. Let them go...naturally.

This is as crazy as free healthcare for the poor. We pay them to live...housing, food, necessities like cell phone and cable TV...and now we're giving them free healthcare so we can pay for them to live longer? On our dime?

Does seem to be going way too far with respect to using tax payer dollars. Here's another case. You can see the variety of opinions. What if one of this person's victim family members had similar desires to get a sex change. They could not get it. But if you are in prison for murdering someone, you should. That seems quite wrong.

Yet more evidence that liberalism, especially of the type practiced in Alt-California, is a genuine mental illness
