Default Amazing choices....

To me anyway, that the cable news channels make on what news to cover and stress.

The following news item caught my eye...

"NKorea threatens US; world anticipates missile"

"North Korea threatened Wednesday to wipe the United States off the map as Washington and its allies watched for signs the regime will launch a series of missiles in the coming days."

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090624/...eas_nuclear_91

Now I know that N Korea talks a lot, but I have not heard a word on this on any of the 3 major cable news channels (NOT saying they didnt cover it, but it would appear it takes a back seat).

I checked all 3 webpages....CNN, MSNBC and FOX...lots of coverage on Farrah Fawcett, Gov Sanford, etc. but only on FOX is there any mention of this N Korea story !

My question is...am I over reacting or should we expect this to get a bit more conversation ?

My guess is the Obama enablers have decided that foreign policy is not Obama's forte, so they steer the news towards domestic issues like Government Health Care, CZARs and the like. I suppose we will need alot of "health care" if they drop a few missiles loaded with nuclear bombs on us.

Not sure what the point is that you are trying to make here, but based on your past posts, I can only make assumptions.....

I said and I quote....."that the cable news channels make on what news"...and then I said....."I checked all 3 webpages....CNN, MSNBC and FOX.", and it is still not on MSNBC front page ! Note the consistincy with CABLE NEWS CHANNELS ??? Did you notice that !

Again, not sure what point you are trying to make but would sure love to hear it. I NEVER said it was not covered anywhere, nor you couldnt google it and find coverage ! I was pretty specific in what I said !!!! VERY SPECIFIC.

Now what is your point please ??????

Default Unless we have been mislead as to their capability is

they are just rattling sabres they don't have. They are reputed to not even have a rocket that will reach 4000 miles....they have just recently assumed the ability to make nuclear fuel...etc...blah...blah...blah.

The man is no doubt no more potent than the lying Hussein (the one from Iraq!).

Unless he has the backing of some nation that has em to spare.....he is babbling...negotiating...testing the resolve of our current leadership>>>>BINGO!!!!

You are probably correct and I certainly hope you are correct and I was just making the observation that in watching the cable news channels, it simply was not mentioned and I found that a bit disconcerting !

No...actually you said, and I quote; "but only on FOX is there any mention of this N Korea story !"
Not true, and you know it, and probably knew that when you made your false statement.
But that is to be expected from someone who sees conspiracies everywhere against his favorite party.

This post is a true classic!!

Other than jumping on the bandwagon created by the usual suspects, most of us have missed all of your "original thoughts" and contributions.

It's great to see that the legend of Spiro Agnew, another great Republican VP in the mold of Dick Cheney, lives on today. Who would have thought the legions Agnew described as the "nattering nabogs of negativism" are alive and well and continously posting on this site.

Archie Bunker is alive and well in 2009!!

Let us get one thing straight...I mentioned FOX's WEB PAGE...WEB PAGE...I never heard a word on Fox about it and I said I heard nothing about the story on ANY cable news. I saw it on FOX webpage.

Now, secondly your implication is insulting. If you have such an aversion and that whacky outlook on ANY network...dont watch it....but please dont be insulting ! I have no car in this race on here about networks. I dont give a rats behind what you watch nor should you care what I watch. I have never gotten involved in that stupid inane conversation about the networks...I have discussed the media in general but you will never and have never heard me say anything about one versus the other. I have mentioned the ENTERTAINERS on the network as just that. You and others can debate which network is a dirty player or on the "wrong side"....I frankly dont want to get involved in that discussion !

Grow up.....you know very well that I was speaking of the 3 cable networks and had no axe to grind with one more than the other. I cannot imagine people getting their shorts in a roll over this network crap.

Now, continuing. I have been open and honest on this board since it began about my feelings about President Obama and those who worship at the feet of the party..EITHER ONE.. as you obviously do. I have continually posted the same thing and very seldom even mention the party. I have never EVER mentioned any conspiracy theory.....and have restricted my comments to the IDEALOGY of the current President !

I am really not sure what your problem is, BUT for me it is getting quite tiresome. If you have an opinon ON ANYTHING..please share, but you never do...NEVER.

I also do not post if I dont have something to say....I read and try to learn from those who do know and we have quite a few folks who have quite a bit of experience to offer the rest of us, as you obviously do not ! I express my opinion, you NEVER do...you surely can disagree but at least I have an opinion !

Now go back and read my original thread slowly and subsequent posts should just about clear it up...even for you, reading slow is a help !

And on the quote which you began this post you were dishonest as always....you gave a PART of a sentence...the ENTIRE sentence was "I checked all 3 webpages....CNN, MSNBC and FOX...lots of coverage on Farrah Fawcett, Gov Sanford, etc. but only on FOX is there any mention of this N Korea story !" This quote which YOU ONLY PARTIALLY gave was in the context of the entire post on which I stated I did not hear anything on ANY of the 3 cable networks. and only saw a mention on the Fox PAGE.

At least be honest and straightforward !!!!

Yea ...Isn't this the one who closed a thread with this classic remark:

Seems you have many issues. At least Archie made more sense then you do.

I guess the MEATHEAD'S spirit also resides here!!!!! LOL

My goodness!

Keedy, do you actually believe that the White House has enough power or influence to control all the news media except Fox News? Wow! That's a level of paranoia that's not healthy. I'm worried about you, fella.

I have no idea why the major news media has chosen to give the coverage to Michael Jackson that they are. First, when Farah Fawcett died this morning, I mentioned to Mrs. Kahuna that it might be one of Mark Sanford's luckier days. Then Farah got quickly bumped off the news a few hours later. I just shake my head with the shallowness of the news sometimes. The networks should be lambasted as much as the other "entertainers" I've criticized. They broadcast or publish the news that they think will increase viewership or sell papers, regardless of it's importance in the grand scheme of things.

One of the reasons that the North Korea story didn't get much coverage, Bucco, is that it's "old news". It was covered a couple of days ago when the U.S. destroyer began to track the North Korean freighter pursuant to the new UN resolutions. It was then that Kim Jong-il made the threats against the U.S. About the only new news today was the big demonstration in Pyongyang to commemorate the North Korean invasion of South Korea in 1950. I doubt that anyone would categorize that as a major hard news story.

Other than the fact that there really isn't much new news regarding North Korea, maybe the only reason I can think of, other than today's two celebrity death stories, why the news media have skipped over the Korea story is the improbability of anything really happening--certainly not North Korea hitting anything other than the ocean with their rockets. They haven't been successful with their rocketry so far, why should anyone be worried that suddenly they could send a rocket more than 4,000 miles to Hawaii, when the farthest they've been able to shoot one so far is a couple hundred miles into the Sea of Japan? Getting one to go almost 6,000 miles to California seems a bit out of the question, certainly not a threat that's very newsworthy. Then there's the question of both accuracy and warhead. All that might be why the story didn't get much coverage today.
