The Justice Department has disclosed that some Trump aides contacted them and asked that the Trump/Russia investigation be less vigorous. Did they not know that this is against the rules ?? Only the Presidents councilor and deputy councilor, the President and Vice President are allowed to contact the Justice Department regarding any investigation.

Probably his usual source, the neighbors dog had puppys, and one of the puppys was bought by this gal, and her husband's cousin's friend said it...

It is widely reported and based on Trumps reaction via twitter i would say the odds are that it true. The reports are detailed with names, etc.
FBI rejects White House request to debunk Russia stories - Business Insider White House Asked FBI to Refute Trump-Russia Story: Report FBI refused White House request to knock down recent Trump-Russia stories - CNNPolitics.com The one that validated it for me is this.... "President Donald Trump, who said he definitely, “1,000 percent” doesn’t have a feud with the C.I.A. or F.B.I., just picked a fight with the intelligence community again. Less than 24 hours after CNN reported that the F.B.I. and its director, James Comey, struck down a White House request to publicly refute media reports about alleged communications between the Trump campaign and known Russian operatives, the president took to Twitter to deride the top law-enforcement agency for apparently leaking the story. “The FBI is totally unable to stop national security ‘leakers’ that have permeated our government for a long time. They can’t even . . . find the leakers within the FBI itself. Classified information is being given to the media that could have a devastating effect on U.S. FIND NOW,” Trump wrote on Twitter early Friday morning in a series of tweets. Trump Lashes Out After F.B.I. Refuses to Refute Reports About Russia | Vanity Fair This is how Trump usually behaves when he is "caught" in anger or as he says "counter punching" This is also why this will never go away. I wrote in another thread that Trump, over his many years in public eye has built a stellar reputation as a liar and cheater among other things. He has "made this bed" and he will need to "lie in it" over how ever long he is in office. His "thing" with the media before politics was...if you blame him for A....he will attack you immediately and accuse you also of A...if A does not fit...he makes something else up. He has done this for years.and this is part of what he does. i have no idea where this investigation goes, but if memory serves me correct, the only other time this kind of request was ever made was by Richard Nixon. I might be wrong but that is the only time I can recall Speaking of which while I was looking to see if I could validate the Nixon story, I just was recalled of this....quite an guy to say this... "Richard Nixon’s former lawyer is accusing President-elect Donald Trump of constantly lying to the American people. John Dean, who served as White House Counsel to the former president and was directly involved in the Watergate scandal, says he’s troubled by Trump’s lack of knowledge and penchant for lies. "It is deeply troubling when you realize that the president-elect generally does not know what he is talking about,” Dean tweeted. “And when he does he lies.” Nixon's lawyer accuses Trump of lying | TheHill This investigation is not going away, nor should it. |

Now that he's POTUS, he's counting on his supporters (note the continued rallies) to try and assuage his false sense of infallibility...by the fact that they don't care if he's a flaming liar. ![]() I truly believe he is mentally ill, since he doesn't seem to understand that he is no longer a private, scumbag business person...beating up on those who can't afford to defend themselves. I think he will soon find out...how wrong he is though. ![]() |

You always say, and I am para phrasing..."progressives have caused this or that, and now we have to live with it" Well, President Trump has spent his entire life lying....not his presidency but his life...to making calls and pretending to be someone else..his life is based on his lying and being deceitful. Well, now we, and he have to live with that. How could any good journalist ever take this man at his word ? If you know someone who has outright lied his entire life, do you open yourself up and trust them suddenly because their title has changed. No..you are smarter than that. He is performing on cue. If you say something bad, he will accuse you of something and call you a liar. He looked for cover from the FBI, as did Nixon, and they RIGHTFULLY refused. As he does, he acted like a child and shut out many members of the press. I have no idea of what he did or didn't to relative to Russia, but.... Calling out the FBI for conducting a legitimate investigation and asking them to actually give FAKE news saying nothing to see.... You can defend him if you wish, but for me, and increasingly more Americans, he is really digging a hole....degrading the media, needing to fire a national security advisor, having the WH chief of staff ask for defense press relief. The plot thickens. This man has given everyone very good reason to disbelieve him. He evidently feels that being elected President erases all his past words and behavior. It doesn't. |

This is Trump being Trump. This is why he is looked at with suspicion. He is using his office and its power to intimidate. We had another president try this if you recall.
"White House press secretary Sean Spicer barred reporters from 0several large media outlets from participating in a scheduled press briefing Friday. Two months ago, in a panel discussion, he insisted that open access for the media is “what makes a democracy a democracy versus a dictatorship.” While conservative outlets such as Breitbart, One America News and the Washington Times were allowed into Friday’s briefing, Politico, the New York Times and CNN were not, according to the Times’ Michael Grynbaum. The White House Correspondents’ Association, representing the White House press pool, released a statement indicating that it was “protesting strongly” against the way the briefing was handled. The New York Times’ executive editor, Dean Baquet, told his paper’s reporter that “nothing like this has ever happened at the White House in our long history of covering multiple administrations of different parties.” CNN called it “an unacceptable development” that was “how they retaliate when you report facts they don’t like.” On Twitter, The Washington Post’s executive editor, Marty Baron, called the move “appalling.” In December, Spicer said barring media access is what a ‘dictatorship’ does. Today, he barred media access. - The Washington Post |

For what it is worth....
I am tired of the tweeting and then finding out the tweets are not true. I am tired of being an embarrassed American watching the President fight with the media, federal judges, US intelligence and anyone who critiques him. I am tired of hearing everything being called fake news because they don't like it. I am tired of the President saying no more anonymous sources while his press secr is insuring anonymity with other members of the media almost at the same time. I am not even sure anymore what or who is being investigated for what. We know a national security advisor was fired by the President for lying to the VP, something he said was fake news, 1. Why do we not have an outside investigator for the entire Russian hacking and connections to the WH ? 2. Why does not the FBI hold a press conference telling us what exactly they are investigating ? This is becoming even more involved than Watergate. |

Has anyone else seen some cracks in that Trump wall at Fox ?
Seems today, more than a few raised eyebrows ar his remarks, the different messages coming from members of the WH staff, and his attacks on the media. Usually 100% defense, but thought a few commentators today with raised eyebrows and cynical remarks about him. |

This story sounds like a book in the making.
If you care at all, read the details in this article as to what happened, "After President Nixon's scandals in the early 1970s, the Carter Administration imposed rules designed to prevent the FBI from meddling in politics, and to keep politicians from meddling in criminal investigations. In Bill Clinton’s first term, Attorney General Janet Reno limited contacts between the White House and law enforcement regarding criminal investigations to the top three officials at the Justice Department on the one hand and the President, Vice President and the top two White House lawyers on the other. George W. Bush loosened those limits after 9/11, but after a series of scandals, his last Attorney General, Michael Mukasey reimposed them. Those limits were again adopted by the Obama Administration in a 2009 memo by then-Attorney General Eric Holder. Matt Miller, a Holder aide, says "that memo directs that contacts between the White House and the Justice Department be funneled through the White House counsel's office to the AG or Deputy Attorney General's office precisely so there can be no inappropriate tampering with investigations. If McCabe and Comey told Priebus about what was happening in an ongoing investigation into the president's associates, they clearly violated that guidance and crossed a major line." Again "He says", "she says"it is just plain nuts and I wouldn't be surprised if a foreign enemy decided this is a perfect time to strike. Perhaps our enemies believe if they wait a little longer they can take control of the nation without firing a single shot. Personal Best Regards: |

Even with your infatuation, unless you have been living in a cave for 50 years, you have to be aware of his prolific reputation, even stooping to pose as his own agent on the phone to try and perpetuate a few of his lies. What is he said, she said ? He called it fake news, then fired his National Security adviser and used that "fake news" as his reason for the firing. I do agree the last 2 months or so have weakened us as a country. Our leader is attacking the media, the first ammendment, is attacking the total veracity of every single intelligence agency in our country, is attacking individual members of our judicial system, is trying to twist arms in the investigation of Russia's hacking and attempting to influence our election, is actually opposed to such an investigation, has allegedly tried to influence the FBI to issue a press release countering the facts. Has lied almost on a daily basis on most everything, and I could go on. So yes, he has weakened us substantially, and those outside our borders are scared to death of where he is leading us. He has defied all logicc by all experts and given so much propaganda for terrorists to recruit, and you come on here and do what he has done....build a "Chinese wall" to protect him. He said that the federal judge in Washington would be responsible should there be any attacks...YOU lay down the same kind of defense he did. What do I spell out that is "he said she said" ? |
