My wife and friends like to go someplace for the day shopping.
They have been to Mt Dora, Eustis, Seagrass Mall, Winter Park, Winter Haven, Macanaw. Looking for some ideas.

We took our kids to the outlet mall near there. I think it's a Tanger outlet. It's huge, but I think you can get better prices online. However, fun to shop and see what's there. If they wanted to really go out of the way, St. Armand's Circle over by Sarasota is fabulous. |

My favorite place to shop is Tampa International Mal. Huge Dillards, Nordstrom, great restaurants and lots of small shops.

Winter Garden Village is a big area of stores and restaurants, and just down the turnpike.

Agree with going to International Mall in Tampa.
Only an hour and 15 mins from T.V. Having lived in Tampa for 17 years, that's where I head for shopping and restaurants.

Disney Springs is one place to visit with shopping and restaurants. A favorite of ours is Christmas Tree shop in Altamonte Springs followed by Old Time Pottery in Casselbury. There is also a mall in Altamonte Springs and many restaurants.

OR have lunch in historic downtown Winter Garden. From the shopping village, head north on same road you exited 429 to Plant Street, turn left and it'll take you to the downtown in a few blocks where you can eat lunch outside or walk on the pedestrian/bike trail in the middle of the street. Charming. Last edited by borjo; 03-05-2017 at 03:36 PM. |

You can get on the Turnpike at Wildwood and drive one hour south and take I-4 East and take the first exit and stay to the right and you'll see Mall of Millenium. It's a very nice mall, but most stores are very upscale and the food court is not that big for a 2 story mall that has over 150 stores.
The Mall at Millenia - The Mall at Millenia Stay on the Turnpike one more exit, then take Airport exit and then exit to Orange Blossom Trail US 441 North, and go about 3/4 of a mile and Florida Mall will be on your right. It's a big mall with just as many stores but all on one level, so be ready to do some walking. It had a great food court, but about 2 years ago they tore down the food court and built a completely new one where Saks 5th Avenue was. It's even larger than before but they lost the Dairy Queen which was a favorite of mine. They even have a hotel at the Mall that's several stories tall. http://www.simon.com/mall/the-florida-mall I sometimes feel like I've traveled to another country when I go to these two malls, as it seems no one speaks English anymore, not even the employees. So for the last couple of years we've been going north on I-75 to Gainesville to Oaks Mall. It's also about a one hour drive and exit at the third Gainesville exit (Newberry Rd) and go east about 1/4 mile and the mall is on the right. It's similar to Florida Mall with 5 big anchor stores, but you feel like your in a down home country town, and not so much in Florida since there are so many young people with the University there. Ladies went to Cocoa Village in Cocoa Beach and had a great time. Looking for more ideas for future outings.
