There is no doubt the more one reads the more one understands what is being proposed VS the rumor/clamor mill.
However, at the same time, the more one reads about the bill the more concerned one should become. Legal ambiguity and lack of clarity are major issues. Understanding the impact of many of the proposed so called cost saving features need substantial understanding as they affect us and our loved ones. I found these two sites helpful in some plain english presentation of some of the bigger issues. Plus links to the full document if one would be so inclined to read without legal assistance: 4 details you and your congressman need to know about health care reform: http://health.usnews.com/articles/he...the-bills.html 7 ways health care reform is going to affect you: http://health.usnews.com/blogs/heart...ated-links:TOP If you have any other sites you have seen that educate or lend clarity of understanding for the layman...please reply with a referal. btk |

Thanks, Billie. The articles don't answer all our questions, but highlight some important parts of the proposed healthcare legislation.
I like Dr. Bernadine Healy, the author. I recall she was the former head of the Ohio State medical school and more recently a TV commentator. I really liked the suggestion she made at the end of one of her articles... "I'd suggest that each member (of Congress) take a proctored, multiple-choice test on these bills, with their grades posted on the Web. Those who flunk, step aside." |
