Cool "That will be $58,000!"

Went shopping at the CR466 Walmart yesterday for stuff for tacos, chips, and some Blu-Rays of Arrival and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. I like to check out the details quite often in some movies as I get Lost in them.

I get into the 10 Items or Fewer Line and wait my turn in back of an Indian man wearing a Wildwood Utilities Shirt. He has nothing to buy in hand so the cashier asks him if his stuff is what I have on the conveyor. The Indian man tells the male Walmart employee that he just wants some kind of cigarettes. He looks 40 or over so is not carded as to Walmart's tobacco policy of not selling tobacoo products to anyone who appears under 40 without an ID.

Anyway. After the Indian gets his cigs my stuff comes up. The total was $58.17 or so.

The male cashier -- who looks like he might need to give an ID for buying tobacco if he smokes-- tells me "That will be $58,000!" I have never seen the man before that I can recall.

So I just tell him that my $70.00 that I handed over looks like it is $70,000!!! Two people can be as crazy as one.

He looks at me as do they other men in line with some amusement.

Then he tells me that the 83 cents or so from my $70.00 is all I am going to get back.

Well the storm is getting a little loud outside and I am getting a little peeved with the cashier's humor.

Anyway. I just give him a little bit of my crazy eyes as if were imitating Robert De Niro in many of his movies.

That works and he hands over my additional $11.00 of change. A ten and a one which I put into Where's George was soon as I get home after putting in these Blu-Rays into my Ultra-Violet Collection.

Not a boring afternoon after the storm going and coming to Walmart and the bald 45 or so old male cashier with an odd sense of humor.

He may be a new hire just getting the ropes. Have not seen him before in that Walmart and I go in there a few times a week at least.

Some of the employees may be onto my 224 613 Project as I have been really pushing it of late so I had thought maybe he was just teasing us rich folks. Not there yet though. And may never get there. Depends on the people who have been helping me since 1992 or so and what they want to do with it.

So, I just handed him the imaginary $58,000. Should have introduced him to Harvey my seven foot invisible rabbit pookah friend.

The kind of Indian that Christopher Columbus hoped he had found with a passage to China and India. China beat Columbus to it, perhaps | The Economist

He had no accent though that I detected.

The Cigar Store Indian from Seinfeld.

Everytime I see the episode about George's parents buying in Boca Del Vista I think of TV. When I enter most neighbor's homes I think of Jerry's parents and their inability to use the air conditioning.

One day shopping at a local Walmart I was getting ready to check out
2 associates started to argue who was going to check me out
It was close to break time after a few moments of arguing back and forth
I said excuse me I have a solution I won't bother either of you
I left leaving everything on the conveyor walked out

When the Indian man wearing a Wildwood Utilities Shirt asked for the cigarettes, you should of said, you spending $20, maybe $30 a week on cigarettes?

He would say - $53.

Then you say, "$53 a week on cigarettes?! Come on! Would you give somebody that much money each week to kill you? 'Cause that's what you're doing now, by paying for this so-called privilege to smoke."

Indian man would then say, "Hey, man, we gotta croak sometime."

Then you would of said, "It's that kinda mentality that allows the cancer-producing industry to thrive. Course we're all gonna die some day. But do we have to pay for it? Do we have to actually throw hard-earned dollars down on the counter and say, "Please Mr. Merchant-of-Death, please, sell me something that'll stink up my breath and my clothes and fry my lungs."

Clerk would then say, "Now wait a second."

Then you say, "Yeah. Yeah, now here comes the speech about how he's just doing his job by following orders. Friends, let me tell you about another group of hate mongers that were just following orders."

Indian man, "Who's that".

You say, "They were called Nazis!"

Clerk said, Nazis!

You say, "Yeah, and they practically wiped an entire nation of people off the Earth just like your cigarettes are doing now."

Tal, you know your movies. When movie this his come from?
