I was on 466a this afternoon, going west near the Bob Evans. A white sedan was waiting to come out of the B.E. parking lot and someone allowed them space to do so when the light changed. This woman then preceeded to cross the right AND left lane and go into the left-turning lane and did a "lou-y" to go east! It's amazing there wasn't an accident!! First of all it was probably thought of as a kindness of the driver who "let" that person out...but I would say it's againest the law as they in all intents and purposes were directing traffic. IF there had been an accident, I believe they'd have been ticketed as well. I need to add there were cars in BOTH lanes going west......

Sadly, Florida allows cars to turn into ANY lane they wish (supposedly in a safe manner, but safe to whom?). Makes it scarey for us folks who come from states where you must turn into the same lane you came from. No comment about the directing traffic aspect of it all.

When you have the right-of-way to make your turn, all lanes are open for you to turn into. There is no conflict if the law is obeyed. Anybody encroaching on your selection of lanes is breaking the law. That's why the law in Florida is the way it is.
