Default Orlando Shootings Press Conference...PC gone wild.

Good grief. I was just watching govt and law enforcement officials giving a press conference regarding this morning's Orlando shootings.

The Orange County Fire and Rescue chief describing the triage efforts, said several people had "injuries incompatible with life."
I will translate...they were dead.

The Sheriff stated that the shooter was "deceased by his own means".
Translation...he killed himself.

It is the result of all the PC talking heads which masquerade as the news media today. The new rule of thumb is to use six or seven words when two would suffice. I do not know what they are teaching in journalism school these days but it is not conducive to brevity.

I thought it was going to be another terrorist situation. Turned out it was someone who was mad about being fired and probably had other mental issues.

I don't know which is worse. We can't seem to stop either kind of horrible violence. Please don't say anything about guns. Bad people will always be able to get them. I don't have one, but I don't think we need to change the laws about citizens carrying guns. Maybe if someone had one at that office it might have ended differently.

I like the more direct words of Orlando Chief John Mina. He said about Markeith Loyd. "We are going to drag this dirtbag back to justice".

That might be the kind of language used in their reports. Many professions have their own phrases used. Doctors and lawyers are pretty bad in this regard. Firemen maybe too.

I read that in Seattle now the police must refer to an alleged perp as a "community member" rather than "suspect". Well, what are they calling members of the community who are not suspected of a crime? Anybody know?

It is a common term used by paramedics the world over and has nothing to do with pc/pic. Just google it. In some cases it means an injury not able to be resuscitated with CPR.

There is a puzzle piece missing. Interested to know shooter's name.

Fiamma has locations in five countries and the owner lives in Boston. Shooter had been fired in April. Had been arrested for battery at same site in 2014. Ten people altogether work there.

Heartbreaking for a lot of people who lost those they loved. Can't blame any of us for wondering about terrorism when you hear multiple dead in shooting or stabbing.
Now we know his name. Why was that interesting?

John Robert Neumann, Jr. Madness. First thing that came to mind for me was Alfred E. Neuman. I wonder why?

I took your advice and Googled. I discovered that the term originated within the abortion advocacy community. It indeed sounds like it has PC roots to me.

Any legitimate proof of that?

Here's what I found...which supports CFrance

Injuries incompatible with life

Quote:
Author: doctor Martynenko O.V.

Doctors of ambulance and centers of extreme medicine face daily injuries from injuries of varying severity. Patients with mild to moderate injuries can receive treatment on an outpatient basis or in the profile department of the hospital. Victims with severe injuries are in intensive care units, and sometimes do not even have time to reach the hospital.

Causes of severe injuries

The cause of the injury can be:

- knife and gunshot wound;

- injuries resulting from a traffic accident;

- injury from electric shock;

- falling from height;

- trauma associated with the characteristics of production.

Injuries incompatible with life result from the violation of the work of one or more vital organs.

I remembered something I saw long ago by George Carlin on the euphemisms and the way language has changed over the years.

Apologies if anyone takes offense.
