Default Email Scams

Lately I have been getting emails supposedly from banks where I have no account telling me that my account is suspended and giving me a link to check to unfreeze my account. I do have an account with BOA and received a letter from them as well as from Wells Fargo and BB&T. I'm sure that these are phishing emails so if you get any emails like these just ignore.

A really great official looking email just came thru in our junk mail from a big bank. It was so official looking it's scary. Imagine the scams these clowns pull on people.

I've been with Century Link for six years come July and I never got spam for 5 and a half years. Then about six months ago I started getting a couple a day, usually from a yahoo account. I now have 48 phishing emails in my spam folder, and that is just from the last 10 days, because after that they drop out. They are attention my wife's name, so apparently something she entered.

I used to put the email address into a filter to discard but they just keep coming up with new addresses. Now they come from address that I've looked up and are in Africa. That's the first indicator, like a Walgreens email but from Africa with a person's name. I don't even open the emails anymore, I can tell just by the subject line. I called Century Link and they said put them in the spam folder and when they see a lot they'll do something. I have my filter set on high. One of the dead giveaways is the 'unsubscribe' button is very big and near the top. No real business wants you to unsubscribe that easily.

Here are some of the subject lines, if you see them don't click, don't even open, just delete or put the email address into a spam filter but they'll just use a different one next time;

Been getting a few asking for a transfer. Reported to g mail as phishing but sender keeps changing sending addresses so reporting appears to do no good.
